  1. Oops. Never had trouble with photos before. Maybe my dues are delinquent?
  2. To use the Raydots, that looks like the only way. I'll probably start with something simple like the photo below (not mine) then add 2 struts if it vibrates too much.
  3. I just put Brooklands on and need mounts for my 2 side mirrors. I have Raydots that I'd like to use. I see all kinds of mounts on the web, especially tripods. But, I can not find a source. Surely everyone does not have to fabricate from scratch? Help?
  4. I also may have to change ECMs. I have a TEC 2 and again, NO SUPPORT. I have not found anyone to tune it. Probably should have bought the unused Megasquirt on Locost 7s recently. Your engine sounds awesome. Remember the key to high tech shopping: Once you buy, quit shopping or listening to others.

  12. Andy 69, Welcome to autocross with street tires. I have an old (86-89?) Birkin and have never had a problem not being able to rotate it. The understeer (205/50/15 x 4) is due to modern tires not working with light weight. As already stated, a hard lift or brake should help. Alignment / corner weights ditto. Without being a serious (huge slicks) autocrosser, Mine is almost neutral, rotates easily and is a blast, just not very fast. I have not splurged on AVON ZZS 15", and continue to hear good things about R888R Toyos. Don't know their wear rating. Someone here does... May try them. How old are the tires? If you don't know, they are probably too old. Rear fenders don't like cones. Below is a photo of mu cone catcher, just on the off side, I don't hit my side. It is removable. I am only disappointed that it has not sliced a cone off, leaving the base in the square.

Mind your rear fenders: they may not survive a cone strike. I can witness that one (twice), then got a cone catcher made for the off side rear fender. Fortunately, a cheap body man will repair the crack (stresses at the top) and paint for only $200 - 250.
  14. Would you trade your occasional Seven problems for troubleshooting a Stanley Steamer? Maybe not. Interesting photo of the plumbing. Let it cool? Know which valve to shut to avoid a lobster effect? I don't even see the odd towel around. I wonder if California counts that as a near zero pollution vehicle?
  15. Andy69, Congratulations and welcome to the virtual asylum. Do try to get your kid to go. A Seven is just his size. At stops, I get every kid I can into the driver's seat and they love it. Don't fret about the RHD. It's not a problem. More authentic looking too. Funny when a passenger tries to get it and discovers they are on the wrong side.

  20. I notice that the Slingshots all end up customized or painted special. The new Pantera? Before they were actually sold, I was a bit excited at the idea - $20k for brand new! Once I saw one, I was very disappointed that it does not have anything my Birkin misses, one less wheel, etc.and weighs 500 pounds more. Just too heavy. Frame looks like NASCAR roll cage and the Fiberglass is really thick. Great concept (take that, regulators).

  23. Croc, or other informed person, Explain why a double anti-submarine belt is better than one. If you have two, they are so close at the contact point that it may as well be one? Depending on "which side you carry on", I don't see any benefit. With a 5 pt., you won't submarine and the rest of the harness is held in place? More important to pull everything tight. I have see many that do not. When I rallied, after a multi-day event I would have bruises on my shoulders. I liked that.
  24. Ah yes. The front engine juniors are so under appreciated. Seems everyone wants a lot of power. (Don't get me started) The juniors are beautiful, like a 3/4 Formula One from the fifties. Sounds like you had good fun.
