  1. Sold the S2K today. New owner is overseas but will be back in Texas in October. Glad to see it going to a good home. Thanks, Robert F.
  2. Thanks Bruce, I am on your mail list and have the latest manual. This is the "Chuck Spera" car many on here know. My car is in your manual a few times. Picture at the gas station is from the 2005 Houston TX to San Francisco CA tour with about 80 Seven type cars, mostly shipped over from UK for the tour. Robert F
  3. Kess, Can't answer your PM until you clear some space. Thanks, Robert
  4. Time to pass on my Ultralite S2K. Car originally owned by Chuck Spera. Built by Brian Anderson at World Class Motorsports, Lancaster (Dallas) Texas. Serial number 20 of about 100 built. Current Texas title, just passed inspection for new license. Original titled in Texas as 2004 Ultralite. Chuck raced SCCA D Modified Pro Solo 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Detroit Region Champion and Central Division Champion or runner up several times. Also several wins and runner up at Run 'N' Gun those years. Driven in 2005 Sevens Houston to San Francisco Tour. After 2006 Chuck replaced S2K with Ultralite XR7. At that time new 2004 Honda S2000 2.2 liter engine installed. Believe this was one of the "Train Wreck" engines Loren Edwards acquired. Engine only had a few hundred miles when I bought it. Today car has 18,000 miles and engine 13,000. Has WRX 3.90 torque sensing rear end, inboard rear brakes and custom built aluminum rear hub carriers in place of Subaru parts. Fast, comfortable and dependable. Contact me for more information or pictures. Looking for offer. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=12327&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=12328&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=12329&stc=1
  5. lightguy, I have a WCM S2K and am near by in Waco. Be glad for you to take a look and test drive. This is my second Seven. You will like S2K for country drives or road trips. This car has been driven Houston TX to San Francisco CA, Detroit MI to Waco TX and other shorter trips. I have driven it 13,000 miles past 3 years. Previous owner won many races around the country including being SCCA Central Division Pro Solo D/Modified Champion a few times. I believe these are among the most trouble free Sevens. This one was a "Turn Key" built by World Class Motorsports in Lancaster TX (Dallas). Personal Message me if you would like to try it out.
  6. I say go for it Yeti. Must agree with everyone, even lotusman has some good points. Wife and I picked up our Ultralite S2K near Detroit and drove home to Waco Texas. 1300 miles in three days was a blast and would do it again today. We had no problems. Things I would recommend are Catz Eyez sky diving goggles. They are vented but keep everything out. HeadSweat cycling coolmax shorty to protect your head (from your local bicycle shop). Long sleeve shirts to keep sun off your arms. Can of Fix-a-flat. Chamois to dry the INSIDE of the windshield. Rope to secure baggage if needed. And a tarp or car cover just in case. Take back roads when possible and stop often. I have done this in all kinds of open cars and airplanes the past 50 years, every one was a great adventure. You and your son will remember this forever. Robert
  7. Thanks Bruce, I read over the updated manual and it looks great as usual. Thanks for all the time you put in for us all. I will try and put together some information on the inboard brakes, aluminum bearing carriers and rear suspension geometry. All this was in place when I got the car from Chuck Spera. I may be the only one interested, but would like to know who owns each serial number S2K and XR7. What modifications and any history on each car. I will put together what I can on #20 if anyone is interested. Thanks again, Robert F.
  8. Nice day in Waco Tx last week. Temp near 20 deg above nornal. Took S2K to work three days. Near fourty in morning and over seventy at noon. Not far from home going to work.Noon in Camron Park, one of largest city parks in TX. Doesn't get much better! Very hard to head back to work.
  9. Looks good and a bit larger than new screens I cut for my S2K. I used clear lexan, easy to saw and sand the edges. Also easy to drill and form. I added two inch on the outboard end and four inch inboard so they touch in the center. roughly same height and shape as originals. They cut down wind and also much better than the original dark screen at night. First picture is original and second are the larger screens. Thanks for the information I get from you guy's. Robert .
  10. Hello Coolhandluke, I'm in Waco TX and have a World Class Motorsports Ultralite S2K. I would be glad to show to your dad and let him take a test drive. I too have an S2000 that I have driven for many trouble free miles. The S2K has S2000 engine and transmission, Subaru WRX rear end with inboard brakes and custom suspension. It is near bullet proof with the Honda ecu. My car is the former Chuck Spera D/Modified 7 with a long list of race wins. An internet search for Chuck Spera S2K will bring up a lot of history. I drove Waco to Lubbock and returned July 4th this year, picked up the car near Detroit in 2014 when I bought it and DROVE back to Texas with no problems. Chuck drove in the Houston to San Francisco Se7en tour in 2005. These are great track cars and comfortable (for a 7) road cars with Honda reliability. I have driven mine 8500 miles the past 16 months with only usual maintenance. Contact wcmultralite.com for more information. Contact me and let me know when you will be in the Waco area. I will be glad to show off my S2K. Robert F
  11. Looks great! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine. Up to 13,300 miles at lunch. Very hard to stop driving and come back to work. Have fun.
  12. I am in Waco, less than 200 miles. I have Chuck Spera's former S2K #97.
  13. Jack at Kinetic Vehicles bent a custom frame for my Ultralite S2K to my specifications. He has two extrusions types with square or rounded edges. Frame looks great, reasonable price and a very nice fellow to deal with. Also has a lot of Locost 7 parts.
  14. Very useful touring modifications. Now it's time to get work building for mine. Enjoy your trip.
  15. All looks great Slomove, Very innovative to make touring better in a Seven. Could you supply detail pictures of the wind deflectors and roll-up roof? I would love to have all three of these on my S2K. Thanks for sharing. Robert
  16. Randy, Wife and I plan to drive our Ultralite S2K from Waco TX to Colorado Springs Lotus Owners Gathering. When you know dates and times you will be at Texarkana, Amarillo, Tucumcari and Taos please post, we would like to join up with your group. We should be able to catch up somewhere between Texarkana and Amarillo. I am sure many will turn out if they know when to expect you in their area. Traveling as a group is always more fun...especially if someone needs assistance. We drove the S2K from near Detroit where we bought it to Waco last year and had a great time. Not hard to pack all you need for a trip if you plan correctly. I hope to meet you in August. The Zenos looks great to me by the way. Robert F.:seeya:
  17. I recommend staying away from AC switch. They will not hold up to DC. AC has an equal amount of off to on, and time to cool in the off cycle. They also reverse polarity each cycle also helping stay cool. A DC switch is made to take the load (heat) continuous. An AC switch in a DC installation may burn and stick contacts on or just get hot, warp and not work. Worse case they can short, catch fire. Automotive and Aircraft parts places should have DC switch.
  18. Thanks for the picture Mondo. Bruce , I would like very much to get the manual. Please send to my work email; rfranklin@ramaircraft.com I have just sold a very nice Lotus Series III replica that was built in New Zealand. I am buying an S2K from Chuck Spera. We are planning to drive from Michigan to Texas taking our time on back roads. Departing Michigan late April so hopefully it won't be too cold. I figured top and curtains would be nice to have on the car when parked at night to keep out weather and give a bit of protection. Thanks again for all the information and manual. I'm sure I will be asking more in the future. Robert F.
