I've eaten there a half-dozen times over 4 - 5 years. Only the Single bypass burger, though, and never more than once every few months. Everything is exactly as portrayed in the clip. If you look closely, you will see that the interior walls of the counter (where the Nurses are) are made of slightly-angled mirrors from floor to countertop. Adds an interesting - ahem - perspective. The food tastes just as terrific as you think it does. Moderation in all things - but that includes moderation.

about 11 min long; if you move to about 7:45 you can see the Chevy version. Note that "Entire car is used except wheels and axles, which may be replaced for summmer use". If you simply cannot wait for the glacier to receed before you get your se7en back out...... http://www.flixxy..com/snow-vehicle-concept.htm

Ouch! Definitley not an LSIS, but drop-dead gorgeous IMO. FYI - thread got me thinking, so had some email traffic with Brian Anderson @ WCM, who has been working on their R11 (which I think will do for oversize 11 drivers what they did for oversize se7en drivers with their S2K). His answers to my questions: "The R11 will also be a nimble competitor, we are currently building the newly designed all round tube chassis for higher horse power drivetrains. Anywhere from 4 bangers to LS7s, IRS w / limited slip, and sold as Kits or Turn Key. We should have the bare chassis weight in the next two weeks, other components we have comparisons on. I am guessing with a four cylinder about 1400# and with a V8 about 1600#."

Holding my breath, but have to ask: Care to define "expensive"?
-
Very good point - hadn't thought it through carefully enough.
-
That's what I thought, but figured I'd ask. Thnx.

There are some seriously f-ugly jillion dollar houses in the northern ATL suburbs, but this one easily takes the cake. I hope that guy never sells it, and has to live with it forever. Jeeeez.

Anyone put the S2000 drive train into a Cat Classic or SV?
-
We have a winner. "Steve - how many times I gotta tell you..........." Haven't laughed this hard in a very long time.

Not an owner, but was close....so very close. Then the economy slapped me silly, but I'll be back. Anyway - Test drove an SV in Dallas (now owned by Athens7). Also sat in a Classic with bench seats and in an R400 with composite race seats (at Grand Prix Imports south of Portland OR). 6'3" 230# 11-1/2 shoes. Rookie Impressions: SV - perfect fit Classic + Bench seats - had to leave wallet and normal dress shoes outside the car. I fit, but would not think I would be happy after 30 minutes. R400 + composite seats - no wallet, no shoes - about the same, but the seat was not something I was used to and was set forward for a smaller driver, so wasn't really sure how I liked it. I felt that with the proper shoes, the pedal box would not be a problem - tight fit, but not a problem. The knees didn't fit all that well (compared to BMW 5), but tolerable. It was the butt-width. Last - Jeff Sloan, owner of Brit Auto in Dallas (teriffic guy, IMO), is not far off my size, and he races authentic 7s, and just JUMPS in and out of them - practice, practice, practice. I assume that I am right in that range where you can wear whatever you make up your mind you want to wear. Smaller - no problem. Bigger - well.......... When I get there, it will be in an SV-size. WCM, Stalker, Westy - need to try them out, but would want that little bit of comfort. Personal opinion, not an evaluation or criticism.

You are smarter than me, and I will follow your lead. Learn a lot of good stuff on this site. Got the calendar. Beautiful work. to Skip Cannon - where did you shoot that photo? Reminiscent of repro Ansel Adams birch trees poster I have.

Ruh-roh. Had forgotten to update my profile with new email. May I impose on you please send again? Apologies, and thanks much. Career event caused change to cell# and email address after 10+ years. I am stunned by the number of places I have imbedded those two over the years. Sheeesh. Makes me want to join up with the late Ned Ludd. :banghead:

One day in the future, O J Simpson has a heart attack and dies. He immediately goes to hell, where the devil is waiting for him. ‘I don't know what to do here,' says the devil. 'You are on my list, but I have no room for you. You definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got a few folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves.' OJ thought that sounded pretty good, so the devil opened the door to the first room. In it was Ted Kennedy and a large pool of water. Ted kept diving in, and surfacing, empty handed. Over and over he dove in and surfaced with nothing. ‘No,' OJ said. 'I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer, and I don't think I could do that all day long.' The devil led him to the door of the next room. In it was George W. Bush with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time. 'No, this is no good. I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day,' commented OJ. The devil opened a third door. Through it, OJ saw Bill Clinton, lying on a bed, his arms tied over his head, and his legs restrained in a spread-eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best. OJ looked at this in shocked disbelief, and finally said, 'Yeah man, I can handle this.' The devil smiled and said: 'OK, Monica, you're free to go.'

Just caught back up on the conversation - this clip is non-partisan, true, and hilarious. The general thread topics are non-partisan and true, but not sadly not at all funny. Not to redirect the flow or anything, but... The McCain of 2008 was not the McCain of 2000, for exactly the reasons in the clip. I believe the 2000 version would have won. Not saying I did or did not want rev.2000 to win, just believe he would have. This election, however, is remarkable from any perspective, meaning this: As a kid, I lived for a few years in the early 1960's in Leesburg, VA, now a hi-growth, hi-tech, moderately (?) liberal city. Back then, however, they closed the municipal swimming pool rather than comply with the court's desegregation orders, and one block off the main street in town was a parallel street where black families lived - commonly referred to as "the alley" by my senior-citizen neighbors. I am not criticizing anyone, just setting the tone from nearly 5 decades ago. Leesburg is nothing remotely like that today, which is the point.............. Look forward 4 or 8 years, and imagine the country has watched two girls of African-American heritage grow up in the White House. Regardless of any political affiliation, think what will that mean to the national consciousness and discourse? I used to think the most remarkable thing I had a connection to was my Kansas farmer grandparents' lives spanning the era from no tractors to moon landings and laptops. Now I will have an experience to equal that. May God bless and protect These United States of America.

Curious - How does the State/DOT/Feds look at this? Fuel tax avoidance, etc. Maybe like my days in SW Va: Franklin County, VA moonshine was the best, just gotta know where to get it and how to keep it quiet from the ATF "revenoors"?

Economy pulled the plug on my seven purchase - for now - but I already had at least one example of every saw-dust-making machine known to mankind. If I had gotten the seven bug 10 years ago, would have been MUCH less costly. I kid you not. Anyway - back on point - I have 5 inch and 6 inch P-C RO sanders. They have accessory hook+loop semi-flexible "contour" pads that replace the rigid OEM sanding pad. I use these for waxing furniture. They have wool polishing pads for both, but never seen cotton. However, I have jury-rigged soft cotton rags over the wool, with OK results. Buy the cotton rags at Lowe's - better quality product than HD. Couple wash+dry cycles before use. The 5-inch RO sander might be exactly the thing you are looking for in terms of size. I always get this type of stuff from amazon. There are also many other reputable dedicated woodworking sites that I deal with, but - again - never saw cotton.

The elite German engineers need to rethink their design for the electric plane - extension cord is too long.

You won't believe what happened today!

Cover the drive shaft. Mount the battery. Leave everything else as is, and scare the beejeezez out of everyone else on the road. -
Very nicely done. Class addition (edition?) to a class organization.

Thanks much. Beautiful work. Neighbor couple are avid cyclers and racers, and he even runs a mountain bike race each year in Ontario. He explains bikes and races to us proles in the neighborhood. Forwarded the link to them, with instructions that when their beautiful 4-yr-old graduates to a "real" bike, the neighbors will not allow her on off-the-rack equip.

Could you post the website? (off-topic maybe?) thnx

I think it looks like a cross between a Chrysler Prowler and one of the creatures in the Star Wars bar scene (both indivdually too wierd for my taste, and combined??). But - that steering wheel sure looks cool, so I rummaged around and found this in a company press release. Makes me wonder when you find the time to actually drive the sucker?? AND - what the heck is a "noise valve"? Gotta give them props for pushing the edge of the technology envelope, though. For a "base price" of Euro 95K = $120K USD, almost seems cheap, with 0-100-0 mph at under 9 seconds, and 1.6 on the skid pad. "The most noticeable change for the driver is the elimination of traditional instrumentation replaced by one or more interactive touch screens. These allow the driver to change many parameters such as the rev limit, valve timing, power output, steering assistance, ABS, noise valve, brake balance, ride height, traction and stability controls, as well as influencing the pitch, roll and yaw of the car by adjusting its damping characteristics. For motorsport enthusiasts the system offers an in-built and extendable data logging capability, readily configured for all OBD (onboard diagnostics) and CAN (control area network) sensors with 24 analogue channels available and upwards. For the road this is complemented by GPS satellite navigation, GPRS/GSM mobile communications, motion sensing accelerometers, Wi Fi wireless technology, Ethernet interface connections, as well as touch screens for both driver and co-driver. The system can help reconfigure the car to suit different drivers and different driving conditions and can ensure the Aspid is set-up correctly for the road or track. It can even direct the driver through a series of tests and operations that will enable it to calculate engine torque and power."

Some years ago, we took a 2 week vacation to Scotland. If I could, I'd go back this minute. Major city only for flights in/out, and for 2 wks travelled the entire coastline, plus many interior routes. These videos do not come even close to doing it justice. The scenery and roads are amazing. You will notice some segments on a one-lane road. That's one lane total (not one each direction). Lots of those. Turnouts every 100 - 500 yards, and their game is to see who can turnout first to let the other guy pass (pretty un-American). If you do decide to go, you won't regret it. Feel free to PM if you want any insight. Oh - did I forget to mention their local whisky ain't all that bad?

Agree entirely. They ain't making any more fossil fuels (or California coastlines - at least until The Big One recalibrates the map ). Just looked this up - Domestic production roughly 5 mm bbl/day in 2008, and importing roughly 10mm/day (2.3 from Canada). Can't drill or pump our way around those numbers - "pump one, buy two". It's a commodity market, so USA cannot influence global prices - OPEC, sure - but not us. Keep our oil for ourselves? Protectionism has a very nasty way of rebounding. I (and assume many of you also) have travelled a fair amount over the years in Europe (and NZ). Best recall is their fuel prices were min 2x US prices (up to about 5x in Turkey). I fully realize that is primarily a result of their domestic policies. I can't get my hands around what OUR policies are - darn sure can't farm our way out of this in Iowa. Noon, Jan 20 - be interested to see what happens with people in charge that are not from the oil bidness.
