  1. That was rescheduled due to logistics...because of Olympics and signif of date in Asia, nearly impossible to make it happen. It's now in Dec. Box, you've been quiet....how goes your season of cone-crushing?
  2. I can remember speccing one out using their online tool and it was $95k (I like my carbon, as you know, Morgan). BTW, Brammo is no longer doing Atoms...now just electric motorcycles.
  3. Now spec up the Atom and see what the price difference is.
  4. I love the looks of the Atom, but they make Caterhams look like a good value. Also, in my state, there's no way I could get one registered based on my experience with the Caterham.
  5. Jim- Today is the end of the member drive, and stickers and membership cards will be going out in August.
  6. Super big thanks to John for making this a reality...it'll only get better and better (especially with input from the membership!) -Al P.S. I can't stop watching that S2 video that Bruce posted. I don't care if it's in Japanese....
  7. You know how those things work...one drive and you're calling your bank to wire funds! Alas, for my next Se7en, I'm going old school...like 1960s old school
  8. What do you think you would sell a Stalker built to this level for? If you were interested in building more, of course... --- BTW, this is the Scott of Riley & Scott race cars, so I think we can assume that the fit and finish would rival any Se7en from any maker.
  9. Doug- I happen to like the Rial wheels offered by Fluke UK. It would nice to have a US importer who could get them in at a reasonable price point. http://www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk/index.phpcPath=3&osCsid=7nmsb9unr8lnfvsqor3bpo99n2 -Al
  10. Wot, no update on LOG? How many Se7ens showed? Any old folks, new folks, borrowed or blue folks? Those not in attendance are curious.... -A
  11. My low speed internet at home usually prevents me from logging on nights and weekends (too frustrating waiting for pages to load), so I just saw now that we have reached a milestone for the USA7s forum. Congrats to Flasher70 and everyone else here for helping to build an increasingly robust resource for Se7eners of all shapes and sizes! -Al
  12. tarheel- Going the Superlight route as your first Se7en is definitely "diving in with both feet". But it's been done... I think most people would suggest getting into a Se7en of lower tune as your first car, but you might be used to the thrust of your Vette...remember there is always the motor swap route (cue Mazda...).
  13. Best person to consult is Bruce W...I'm sure he'll come across this soon...forum handle 11Budlite.
  14. Thanks for sharing Arya..here's the extent of what I know about this corner of the car kingdom: "air lockers", "Old Man Emu" parts, and "bead-lock rims".... Looks like a lot of fun, but also a lot of work and potential damage to one's self and vehicle (not unlike track days, I guess....)
  15. Actually, Dave does have a very trick rear-mount rack for his auto-x slicks. Since he's a welder by trade, I'm sure he could easily come up with a solution for a bike or two.
  16. Yes, very nice work. Even more beautiful in the metal. His Se7en (Birkin) ain't bad either. In the words of Ferris Bueller, "It is so choice If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
  17. If you notice I've been quiet on the forum the past few weeks, it's not because I am in between cars — I was on vacation. Visiting Glacier National Park and Yellowstone. And, fellow Se7ener, Dave Kirk. When I found out that Dave was a custom bike (high-end road bicycles) builder, I immediately thought of my father-in-law (whom many of you may have met at 7-7-7), an avid cyclist who has about as much in his titanium Merlin road bike as some people have in their Locost homebuilts. Dave seemed open to having visitors — so we dropped in on him between national parks. He even took my F-I-L out for a bike ride on Montana roads, something he's always wanted to do. A big, public thanks to Dave for hosting a fellow Sevener and his family. Here's a pic of Dave and my in-laws (he's very tall, BTW, so people with "will I fit" questions should direct those his way). -Al http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/339521504_Dave Kirk.jpg
  18. That car, that car is dead to me! :jester: Morgan shared this vid with me a while back...not as painful to watch now as it was back then. Like MacArthur said (about the Philippines, I might add), "I shall return!"
  19. Morgan- You obviously don't have enough Se7en books! I think the Seven and 1/2 (there was such a vehicle) one off wore wobbly webs in at least one of the pics I've seen. -Al
  20. Write in for "Tits!"? :jester:
  21. I don't think so, I think it's John's call as editor/instigator/prez. I assumed that chiming in for your favorite can't hurt, but in the end, it's his call....
  22. There is a Lotus wheel (mostly fitted to race cars) called the "Wobbly Web" ....so if we go that route, there's a nod toward the Chapman era....
  23. My secret fantasy is to find the right original S2 car, live with it semi-stock for a few years, then drop a BDR or some other period-correct but trick Cossie'd deal in it... That way, I get best of both worlds — old-school Lotus pedigree with r400 power to weight ratio so I can keep in sight of the Ebrahimis and Slutzes of the world....though the engine swap may piss off the uber-purists. Oh well.
  24. Gary- I had been hoping to get a car that Colin Chapman had farted in...so this one, despite it's lovely appearance and probable solid provenance, may be a bit too recent for me to pull the trigger that quickly. Great price, though...IMHO. -Al
  25. Steve Fichter's car...nice. We'll see if it's still available when I get back from vacation.....
