Seth- If you will be coming through the Dallas Area, I would love to buy you lunch or dinner so I can pick your brain for a bit. (Sorry for the off topic post )

Yes, that is the golden Gate, and yes. the phone and sign is really there. They have a serious problem with jumpers, currently averaging 1 every 2 weeks. They have closed the pedestrian path at night and have people patrolling the path in golf carts looking for potential jumpers. :nonod:

I saw that too... scary car. Everytime they tried to take a turn at 6/10ths, they would experience horrible understeer and nearly run off track. They just were not going fast enough to create the downforce the car is designed for. It is the first street car (if you can call it that) that I have seen that appeared to be safer and easier to drive the faster they went. :banghead:

I would love to see a video of someone gitting in and out of the car with the top on.

The Series 4 has what I have always felt is a distinctly 70's look to it. IMHO, the series 4 looks dated while the Series 3 has a classic look that will continue to be appreciated for years to come. With that said, I still wouldn't kick a Series 4 out of the garage for snoring.

I spent 10 years in Sacramento... "2 hours from anything you want" was spoken by me many a time. We were 2 hours from Tahoe, San Francisco, and Thunderhill. Now I am in Dallas, where the city is much nicer than Sacramento and the weather is about the same, but driving 2 hours doesn't really get you much. The big plus I've found is that between 5 organizations that each have their own autocross series, and 3 (soon to be 4) tracks, there is never a weekend where you can't race if you want to. We are 3.5 hours or less from everything, but that is by plane. :banghead:

Sounds interesting. I met a bunch of Kiwis at waterski camps in my youth and they were always very nice. Perhaps I will need to check it out when I am ready to retire.

I'm still searching for my utopia. Moderate weather. Near the snow, but not buried in it. Near the ocean. No hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, earthquakes, active volcanoes, or high fire danger. Affordable. Not crowded. And lots of twisty roads!

Sadly, the police can be seen in that pic because they were there to take an accident report. Take a closer look at the 5th pic to see what happens when an F-150 runs a red light and tries to run over a Birkin. Since I am not yet a Se7en owner, I only followed them around for a few hours on Saturday. Hopefully someone that attended the whole event will give a full write-up. I believe the car in the background was actually a red Birkin with a silver strip. If you look closely, it looks to me like you are seeing the reflection of the wine colored Birkin on the lower half, giving it a pink look.

I caught up with the guys today and took some pictures that I though ya'll might enjoy. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/240756502_DSC02705.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1431440556_DSC02728.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/208299894_DSC02708.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/711370336_DSC02707.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1387412128_DSC02706.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1152501811_DSC02711.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2046414133_DSC02717.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/638366098_DSC02731.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/867717887_DSC02718.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1259885283_DSC02729.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1073029517_DSC02714.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2006866592_DSC02715.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/870211605_DSC02716.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/368634792_DSC02726.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1707614151_DSC02712.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/60797789_DSC02713.JPG

Flyin Miata / FM Westfield just started selling them. That says a lot to me about the quality of the product.
-
I think he bought the Miata powered one.

I have a friend with an '06 Element and another with an '06 CRV. Both have had multiple transfer case repairs and because of this both plan on dumping them the day the warranty runs out. I have no idea if these issues are common or just the bad luck of my friends.
-
My favorite: 1) Say that I am very interested in whatever they are selling. 2) Tell them that someone is at the door and ask them to hold on. 3) Set phone down and wait 30 seconds. 4) Pick up phone, apologize, and tell them I will just be a minute. 5) Wait 2 minutes, return to step 4.

This is filmed in the UK... If they canceled a car test every time there was a little rain, they would never get enough material together to produce a show.

I would love to see a Cosworth Duratec in a LSiS.

Yep... I have been using that, but if there have been posts to more than 7 threads since you're last visit, you miss some.

The "New Posts" function I have used on other forums is basically handled as a search that returns a page with all of the new posts. Since you already have a way of identifying them (as you are bolding them), you would just need to work the identifier code in with the search code.

I think you need to re-think this... Lotus offered a hardtop as a factory option for the series four. http://www.lotus7register.co.uk/images/l7s4pix/S4top.jpg

Your description sounds just about exactly what Flyin Miata did with the one pictured. A low pressure pump fills the swirl tank from the main tank and a high pressure pump pulls fuel from the bottom of the swirl tank. Edit: Here is a link to where they talk about it.
-
Flyin Miata found that they had a similar problem with their Westfield, so they installed a swirl tank on the scuttle. http://www.flyinmiata.com/westfield/images/IMG_7294.jpg

I saw that this morning... VERY tempting. With over 6 days left, I suspect that the final price will be a good deal higher. It looks to be well done, although I wish it had a '00 engine mated to a 5 speed rather than the '01 and 6 speed.

Anyone read the latest Grassroots Motorsports? 7 vs Atom...
Titus replied to sporqster's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I stopped off at my local Barnes and Noble to pick it up a couple nights ago, but it wasn't in yet. I'm going to have to try again this weekend. I had the opportunity to enjoy dinner with Keith, Bill, the Grassroots guys, and several Seven and Miata nuts the day they did the track testing and the photo shoot. If the story is anything like the comments I heard at the dinner table, it should be a pretty flattering read. I am very interested to hear how things translate to paper.
