  15. while searching for something else at corner-carvers, I ran into this. It makes me wonder, how is your center tunnel covered? Mine just has 1" square tubing covered by thin aluminum. If that type of failure happens, it'll put a hurting on me. I'm thinking of adding some protection there. Opinions?
  16. I have a few... Rob's practical joke - that was great. totally fell for that. Jon's little screams while driving him to the gap... that was funny. I didn't have time to look over, and I could barely hear him over the exhaust. At first I thought I was hearing things  Preston Lerner... what a guy. Honestly, He is braver than I am. I made a pretty good run up the dragon with him riding shotgun. The whole time I'm telling him I just finished welding the front end together, hopefully it'll hold up . No rational person would get in a car like that and ride the dragon with a stranger. Watching the bigger version of the skyline lineup at the overlook. At that moment I thought to myself "wow, it has really come together". Spending time with Folis... what a character  especially at the Mexican resturaunt Watching the kids play with Al's kids... always a good time  As usual, getting together with the old gang - Scott, Steve, Al... Didn't get a chance to spend as much time together this time around, but it's always fun. Another memory I'd rather forget... coming down the dragon back to the lodge from one of our morning drives (I think it was Saturday), I was coasting down due to a problem that turned out to be a loose wheel bearing. I was doing 30 between the cross roads and Tapoco. There was a pickup coming up the mountain. A crotch rocket decided it was safe to pass the truck while I was coming down. The truck and I both hit the brakes, and I put my right wheel on the edge of the pavement for the moron to have enough room to pass.
  17. Great story. I still can't believe I missed you at the event.
  18. Actually, I think maybe there is a need for a mid-atlantic region.
  19. I got these from the corvetteforum
  20. Maybe if confederates had won :jester: :leaving:
  21. The aim for part 2 was to get some serious suspension upgrades done on the car before coming to the dragon. For most part, that was a success. The car made it, and despite Rob trying to convince me otherwise, nothing fell off the car. It handled the dragon pretty well, and at least ran half decent at the autox. I had really fallen behind on the schedule, so I didn't get a chance to test it at all before the trip, other than the cruise with the porsche club. As a result, I didn't properly set up the alignment, nor the shocks, and both were evident at the autox. So, I'm starting the laundry list before the next big meet. 1- Roll cage - this will be done in Sept/Oct time frame 2- Improved pedal assembly - move it back for more room, and make it better. 3- Replace the rack 4- Relocate battery to the back 5- Fabricate fuel tank that sits in front of rear axle 6- Driveshaft hoops 7- Get some paint on the fiberglass parts. As with the previous thread, i'll keep posting my progress here.

  25. That is SO true... before getting my Seven, the vette had a rumble, and a bad azz feel to it. Now when I drive it, it feels so smoooooth - like a caddy, even though it still has a Z06 setup.
