You can't join... If you do, we won't be able to tame BusaLoco anymore  I'm kidding of course. Welcome aboard

Post up more about this project in the general section.

On Al's he has straps with soft covers that go through the wheel spokes. I thought that was a nice setup. On mine, I wrapped the rear tie down around the axle, pulling it towards the rear and down. I hooked the front around a frame joint where it is 6" apart from a bunch of tubes coming together on either side, and pulled it forward and down.

I don't know GA law, but pretty much anywhere else, windshield with no wipers is guaranteed to not pass. In Maryland they will also require bumpers, exhaust shields, etc... I was very fortunate to get the car registered as historic... no inspection of any kind required - ever. -
Not something I would do, but this seems much better than the stupid lambo doors ricers put on. Disappearing door

Al, after you roast in a few autocrosses, you'll come to the conclusion that autox schools are the way to go... You'll still have to man the cones, but at least you get 30 runs in one day.
-
Al, another thing you may want to consider is getting your current head bench flow tested, so you know what you have. Of course, that means taking the head off, so your car will be out of commission until you decide to put it back on, or get a different head.

Hence 440hp Seven :yesnod:

That's good advice. Also, less traction won't get you really fast times, but it sure as hell is fun. I found that out when I got wider wheels and R compounds for my vette. At first, it was alot of fun to just punch it where it used to slide, and have it stick... but after a while, I missed the slide-on-demand feature

Bart Lami's Caterham is for sale... (just kidding)

Harold  -
My autox instructor's opinion on that subject was to run the same size all around, then use suspension to tune. You see that I listened so well.... running 305's in the back

Al, are these white spots that are smooth on the outside? On the way back from the dragon, at one of the gas station, we noticed them on Scott's car. One theory was that the spot was caused by rocks hitting the fender from underneath, and causing a little seperation in the laminate, hence the white. I have no idea if that's the case though.

Looks great, and nice shop

Bart Lami's Caterham is for sale... (just kidding)
slngsht replied to slngsht's topic in Cars For Sale
The original list price for my Seven was $35,300 in 1993, not including the Panosport wheels, oil cooler, skid plate, and extra front anti-roll bar. The trailer had a list price of $4947 in 2002 but with all my options the cost was closer to $8000 I will sell my Caterham for $25000 and the trailer for $3000. I prefer to sell as a package and will offer a $500 discount for a package price of $27500. Please feel free to pass this info on to the USA club. PICTURES: I leave for Mich. in a few days but when I return I'll take some pic's of the car and trailer and I can forward them to anyone who is interested. -
Hello Everyone, After 13 wonderful years of Caterham ownership I've decided to move on (and mostly slow down--at least on 4 wheels). My 1993 Caterham Super 7 HPC (high performance car) and 2002 Classic Commander Enclosed Trailer are for sale. Here are some key details: 1993 Super 7, Series III, Left hand drive, De Dion chassis, cycle wings. The car is painted black with carbon fiber stone guards. HPC standard features include: Heated and tinted windscreen Convertible top and folding side screens Braided stainless steel brake hose Windscreen Wipers Boot Cover Thin Fixed Seats (for the tall driver) Heater 7" x 16" Caterham Wheels (5) + 205/45 tires Limited slip differential Options include: 1. 218 HP Swindon tuned Vauxhall 2.0 engine 2. Big Brake Kit: 10" vented rotors w. 4 piston AP Racing Calipers (front) and 2 piston AP Racing Calipers and 9" solid rotors (rear) 3. FIA approved Competition Rollover Bar and brace 4. Competition exhaust system 5. Straight cut gearbox with improved ratios 6. Honeycomb gas tank protection kit 7. Honeycomb floor impact protection kit 8. Removable 10" Momo Leather steering wheel 9. Lighter weight steel flywheel 10. Mocal oil cooler 11. Engine Restraint Kit 12. Six Point Quick Release Harness (driver), 3 point Inertia Seat Belt (passenger) 13. Aluminum Skid plate protecting oil pan and oil filter The car is equipped with the original Brillstein Shocks and springs, I have several front anti-sway bars and an adjustable rear anti-sway bar (all to be included) Four 13 x 6 Panosport Wheels will be included. Brief history of this car: I ordered this car from Chris at Sevens & Elans in March of 1993 and took delivery of my kit in Nov. 1993. My intention was to build a reliable, safe, and fast track use car only. The car has never been raced, and never wreaked. The only thing that I have ever hit was a plastic apex cone. The car has never been driven on the street, has never been titled or registered, has always been trailered to events and stored in a garage. The heater, headlights, horn, and emergency brakes have never been installed (still in original Caterham boxes) and are included. The car has been driven approximately 16,000 miles. It has been exceptionally well maintained. All miles are race track miles but in a non-race, driving school environment. That's a nice way of saying that I have had no incentive to beat up the car or over rev the engine. In fact I needed a car that I could count on to be trouble free since I had to be available for students on track and I had little time to fuss with my car while at the track. Issues: The car does have star-cracks on the fenders and it has it's share of stone chips on the nose. When I hit the cone, the passenger side rear fender came off, pulling out the riv-nuts in the aluminum skin. I purchased a new Caterham fender, installed new riv-nuts and reinstalled everything (this was about 5 years ago). The old riv-nut holes are not visible and are covered by the new fender. That new fender does not have any star-cracks. TRAILER: Classic Commander model CT147TE. Size: 14' L x 7'' W (interior) 18x 8.5 exterior. Floor height is 18" Dual Axle with 4 wheel electric brakes Coupler size: 2-5/16 Curb weight, approx 2300 lbs, GVWR: 7700# Equipped with: Spare Tire and Carrier 36" Side Door Ramp Rear Door Roof Vent Winch and Battery Extruded Aluminum Flooring 4 Floor Tie Downs Alum. Loading Ramps (these attach to the rear door ramp to make loading my Seven a snap) Lots of attention to details like: Winch plate welded under the floor, extra thick alum wall skin (.040 vs the standard .030), polished alum. around the rear door frame, stainless steel screws, piano hinge and flush latch on side door, alum tread plate stone guard on the front of the trailer, and steel rear framework with recessed latch on rear ramp door. --------------------------- Car and trailer will be at driving schools at BeaveRun on 8/24

vid. Just out of curiosity, do you know why your shifter moves around so much? It's noticable in the vid, particularly when in 3rd gear and cornering... moves to the right when turning left, moves to the left when turning right. -
Sweet! You didn't miss 7/7/7 by much Be sure to capture a vid of your first drive for us.

So, tell us a little about yourselves

Wife and I have talked about that. We have a good school system here, and kinda settled into the community with the kids. It would be a big move for sure. -
Amen
