  1. not sure, but apparently there are different valves for different applications... like 10 PSI for drum brakes, etc... I think the theory is that the pedal travel is purely a function moving the slave pistons, so if the 2 psi is used to keep the pad JUST on the rotor, it takes away the first little bit of mushy pedal travel. They were $17 apiece from Jegs, so I'm going to try them.
  2. I got some advice today that installing these in the brake line will reduce the initial portion of the brake pedal travel. The valve basically maintains 2 PSI in the brake line. Anyone tried them?
  3. I did not get his name. :nonod:
  4. Since alot of us are slacker keyboard warriors, the least we can do is vote for you
  5. I don't know what Street Touring eXtreme is... Scott Gibson is running there with his Cooper. The kart obviously has a chance to crush everybody, but don't count out the others. At the last EVO school, there was a Camaro within .5 seconds of my time Granted, he had spent several years on his setup, and my car axle hopped so bad, it was difficult to put the power down, but he beat all the Miatas there (yes, even Miatas on slicks). On a tight course like that, I would have never thought a big car like that would be as quick as it was. Driver has a lot to do with it, but I guess our group will have its share of really good autocrossers.
  6. Alright, I guess I'll dust off the old brake pedal
  7. Al, it sounds like we can meet up for breakfast??
  8. It looks like I will be leaving very early Thursday morning. My wife gets off work at 3 AM, so we'll probably roll out of here around 4. I can be at the I-64/I-81 interchange around 6. More than likely, I will be on a trailer, although driving is still a possibility. My nephew is coming as well, and he is one of the tool trucks for the event.
  9. YouTube Video
  10. Seriously, If I didn't think I'd be given a workover in case I get pulled over, I wouldn't bother. I put on about 130 miles on the car today. Mostly highway miles. Car tracks straight and true, and if you don't watch it, you'd be cruising at 90 all day, humming along in 6th gear. The purpose of the trip was to get the rear fenders, and here they are. The lights are mounted temporarily for the trip home. That'll be my project for this week. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/867821991_CIMG1595 (Small).JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/541619685_CIMG1596 (Small).JPG
  11. It is SO tempting to let 'er rip, but I have to wait for an autox... those trees on the side of the road are not very forgiving
  12. Took her for another spin today... this time remembered the camera Most of it is me driving like a grandpa
  13. Rt 33 on the way to Snow Shoe, WV has some awesome runs. Higher speed switchbacks with alot of 180 degree turns mixed in. It is probably not suitable as the next "big" event, but for some of us in the midatlantic, it'll be great. I'm thinking early fall.
  14. I've spent so much of my time working on the car, I think my trick setup with turning camera will stay at home. I will have my usual roll bar setup at the event. It can be pointed in whatever direction.
  15. Continuing with work, mounted the windshield today. Corrected camber on driver side, and machined these little things for properly mounting the heim on the upright for the steering. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/99292043_CIMG1592 (Small).JPG Hopefull by noon tomorrow, rear fenders will be on.
  16. Steve, see Busa's post for excuse  I'll make it to the dragon :yesnod:
  17. my tank mistake was only a $250 mistake, so it's not too bad.
  18. Finally turned in my badge and walked out of work yesterday. :hurray: 8 hours of freedom was great. Now I gotta go make a living for real
  19. So far for me, the only one is the gas tank. When the original leaked, I should have made one just like it and retained the original position. I plan to do that after 7/7/7.
  20. At this point, yes I'm pretty confident... 3 weeks ago, I was pretty worried. You are superman. You can leap states in a single bound.
  21. Click for some Jive Sevens Then click Dialectize
  22. It was awesome of you to hand me the keys to your sportscar on the Dragon. You must've had a weak moment.
  23. little nugget from today's drive. My friend was nice enough to follow me, since I was missing a tail light and had no rear view mirror. He recorded a little bit of the drive... this is probably the best part - just for the sound at least: http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/slngsht/stopsign.wmv
  24. Very cool! Is she a member of www.corvetteforum.com?
  25. Well, took it for a 20 mile drive... AND CAME BACK IN ONE PIECE!!! Actually the car behaved very well. I didn't push it very hard. A few loose ends prevented that. First, I forgot to change the PCM parameters for rear end ratio and rear tire size, so the speedo was slow and I didn't really know my speed. I need to adjust the position of the brake pedal. For some reason it seems slightly higher than before and makes it hard to heel and toe. I also forgot to turn up the shock settings... they were both at the lowest setting. Car tracked straight and seemed responsive to quick steering inputs. I didn't get a chance to push her to the limit to see if she understeers or not. I did pull away hard from a stop sign and got her about 30 degrees sideways
