  1. Dean, we were going to take that page down in the next couple of days, because registration will be open to all. You do have a good point though, regarding a central list of who is coming. Just to give you an idea though, of the first 77, 41 have paid already.
  2. I'm trying to take it a little easier on my wallet, but I will really need to upgrade the rear at some point.
  3. 3 seconds is my target. I'll take her out again when it's warmer, and find a place where I can actually be on the road when I start. I may even let some more air out of the tires. I'm running 22 PSI now
  4. Send 'em to me http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/reddevil.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smash.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/lol.gif
  5. I tried to keep wheel spin to a minimum. In the beginning you feel really trapped by lack of traction. If you look at the data, you'll see as I approach 60 MPH, each .2 seconds, i'm gaining 6 MPH, where as when you look up the table, I wasn't able to gain as much (except at 8 MPH, where I had to back off the throttle). There is ALOT more in there. maybe warmer tires and a straight launch will help.
  6. Frustrated with the cold weather and work, I decided I'm gonna take Frankn7 out today, and for the first time, see what she can do from 0-60 in an unofficial test. So I drove around until I found a spot on the highway, pulled over and let traffic pass, turned on data acquisition and took off when there was an opening. I started the run directly from the shoulder, in 2nd gear. Tires had 5 minutes of normal driving on them, at 40 degree weather. 0-60 was pretty disappointing at 3.8 seconds My data capture is below... Note % throttle http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/lol.gif http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/slngsht/0to60.jpg
  7. Let's not get into a personal flame war here. Let's leave it at a disagreement. I don't own a Stalker, but I have met Dennis' son at Carlile, and have read his posts here and there. I'm sure if you contact him, you'll get plenty of help.
  8. I don't know where Pungo is, but if it's in NC, maybe that's where forum member Old Yellow runs his autox schools. I'm pretty sure when I talked to him over a year ago, he mentioned an "old airfield". I took an EVO school last year. I was pretty disappointed with the instruction. They couldn't beat my time in my car http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/nonod.gif. I didn't really learn a whole lot there. I haven't let Brian Garfield who runs the DC schools drive Frankn7 yet, but he is a capable driver, and I feel like I can pick up alot from his schools. He can jump in most cars, and drive FAST the first time out... I think he still beats my times in my car by 1.5 seconds in a 45 second course. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/cuss.gif Also, the DC level 1 school does a decent job with basic drills, like the figure 8 drill, which is important when starting out in autox.
  9. Only if the deposit is 100% refundable. Customer should be able to know exactly what they're getting into before committing cash. A refundable deposit seems reasonable.
  10. Have you been in touch with Dennis?
  11. I agree with that. One of the early Roti, either mine, or solder guy's was driven by Brock Yates many moons ago.
  12. If clarkson or leno showed up, I think I'll be OK with it http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  13. Did you budget for barf bags? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/rofl.gif
  14. what's the sample rate? It's great for road racing, but if you're trying to measure 0-60, it's gotta have a high sample rate.slngsht2007-01-25 17:41:50
  15. good day for sevangelism
  16. YouTube Video It's called a frill shark
  17. If you sign up for one, let me know, and maybe I'll drive down that way. See if you can find a school as opposed to a regular autox. Both are good for learning. You just get more seat time in a school
  18. Steve, are you up for driving to Baltimore for a school in the spring?
  19. I don't think GPS refreshes fast enough, nor is super accurate. I have an accelerometer hooked up to the PC in my car, but haven't used it for anything other than peak g's. Best way is a 5th wheel.
  20. I totally aquaplaned my vette coming back from an autox on shaved 305's in the back and 275's in the front... The highway turned, and the car went straight. Went over 1.5 lanes. Fortunately no cars next to me, and tracks from another car was there to keep me from stamping "CORVETTE" on the concrete.
  21. Rob, take a pic of your steering spindle. I wonder if mine is the same (since it was the first one).
  22. Didn't answer this one... Currently I'm using the stock Camaro exhaust manifolds. With the high flow heads, there is about 40 more horses to be unleashed if I go to long tube headers, but I don't have the cash at the moment (nor the time to make them) - they have to be custom. Off the manifold, it's a simple gentle 90 degrees, through the sheet metal, then another 90 degrees towards the back.
  23. This was provided by Michael D as well
  24. I got the same advice from my autox instructor. He said keep the same size all the way around, then use suspension to dial in the handling characteristics.
