  1. I've spent about $200 on my camera system, $1100 on tires.
  2. I'd love to take one of these boosted cars for a spin (well, not literally)
  3. similar idea, but mine are prescription. since i don't have a windshield right now, driving without them is painful. I also have noise cancelling headphones on the ears. On long drives I wear a helmet
  4. k, estimate flywheel 480 hp (confirmed dyno @ 385 before last mod - estimated gain since at 40 hp based on others with similar mod). weight measured at 1750 lbs. That works out to 3.64
  5. I'm going to start working on a tonneau cover for my car. Where is the best place to buy the material, as well as the snaps?
  6. We had a thread similar to this last year (as I watched helplessly:o ). So far this year, I'm almost at 1000 miles. Weather is looking great this week, so I'm figuring on adding another couple hundred.
  7. I figured most people had driven more than one, and that I was in the minority. Interesting...
  8. i had 295 at the wheels before any engine work (factory rated 350 hp engine) after head/cam, but stock exhaust manifolds: 385 at the wheel after long tube headers... have not dynoed... on my setup, long tube headers generally add 40hp. So I should be around 420 at the wheels. Car weighs 1750 lbs.
  9. heh, couldn't help it. Lotus has always been successful at making light weight sportscars. Not because they can't make other cars, but because that's what people think when they think Lotus IMO. 276 hp in a 29xx lb car is weak these days. That's the Acura NSX formula. As superior as that car was, bottom line is your competition is cranking out 400+ hp, in cars that are 10% more in weight. In addition to that, they'll be going up against WELL established competition in that segment. That's a tall order. Getting off soap box.
  10. I'll start... 1 . Some here might argue that's actually 3 in various iterations of my car.
  11. Worthy of its own thread. Should indicate rear wheel or fly wheel hp, as well as weight of the car.
  12. yeah, that would be a big improvement.
  13. my only beef with Ultima styling is the front headlight area.
  14. damn! those welds look robot-like. amazing.
  15. I've seen it for a couple of years. I don't think it'll work on sports cars (b/c the car itself should be low - unless they can raise the car at the same time), but it's a great idea for trucks/SUVs.
  16. Jon's car was amazing to see in person. The body work cannot be appreciated from the pics, and there are so many small details like the adjustable pedals, adjustments on the seat, engine lid, etc... I can go on and on. Jon also made a clean spot on my cowl. Now I might have to clean the whole thing
  17. for once the weather forecast was spot on! the entire day was overcast, but no rain. It started raining right as we were packing up, and rained like crazy all the way home.
  18. grrrr. screw it. I'm bringing the Rotus!
  19. I will be leaving the car at home They have increased the chance of rain to 80% with possibility of large hail dammit!
  20. I think the car will plow through corners with a locked diff, and parking spot maneuvers will just be painful.
  21. it's a byproduct of driving an incomplete car on the road. no top, no doors, no windshield, no engine cover. It might actually shrink.
  22. Could be because of the barf sticker on the passenger side of your windshield I don't make a good passenger.
  23. Morgan, I agree that the road you took me on was just about perfect for the cat. yes, here, we have to enjoy the straightaways, and on ramps as well.
  24. Martin, 16 hours and two members to go
