  1. Thanks Al. Could you send me before and after pics once it's installed? Steve.
  2. Al, dumb question: how do you (I) change my password? slightly less dumb question: is there an advantage to the Raceline water rail, beyond tidying up the plumbing? Thanks, Steve.
  3. Good luck, Dave. And hope you get back in the saddle soon
  4. Al, I've talked to the editor at Low Flying and they would like me to do a piece. Almost like a journalist, except I'm not being paid - story of my life really
  5. Yellow and Ali seven cruising through downtown (what there is of it) Crozet, Virginia. Last night - 4/20 - around 6.30 pm. Guy driving - beard? - with young female passenger. Are you local? I'm often out that way - maybe we could meet up for a blat? Steve.
  6. I went for yellow because of the added 'visibility' Where I was living then was all narrow twisting country roads, often with hedges either side - perfect Seven roads in other words I had originally planned the classis green with a yellow stripe, but was worried about not being seen - you can see why fro the last pic, almost like camoflage! Thanks for the comments, Steve.
  7. morning all it's a beautiful day and I have to paint ceilings
  8. Don't start polishing the Aluminum, Mazda, it's a pain in the (') http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  9. Sure http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/wink5.gif
  10. Yes, Al, CDOC. Probably makes sense to see if we could get some kind of general club discount rather than one just for Helmets... I'm going up there later today.
  11. Hi Mutt, could not figure out how to add pics in reply to your question, so have done so here. First is of the body before the wing is on - you can see the 'riv-nuts' where the wing is secured (you're right, the Ali alone will not support the wings) http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070410_073334_clamshell_holes.jpg next is an exterior shot so you can see the final bolt pattern along the body http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070410_073424_clamshell_bolt_.jpg finally (hope you can read it!), the 'official' Caterham instructions for fitting clamshells http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070410_073525_wing_fitting_in.jpg Hope this helps, Steve.
  12. Boxologist is right. I just looked under the padding on my old Bell and there was the Snell sticker! Unfortunately the expiry date for motorsports on said helmet is 1991, so I guess I still need a new one. Al. I'm going down to the local distributor I mentioned later this week. He's offered me his distributor price which is about 22% below retail - do you want me to see if they would do us some kind of group rate? Steve.stevet2007-04-10 06:14:45
  13. Mazda, the last time I wore a nylon stocking on my head... sorry, wrong topic http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif Good advice - especially about trying on first. There's a big Motorsports distribution center near here - I'll see if I can go up there and try a few on. They don't have retail there, but I know the owner, so maybe can arrange a 'fitting'
  14. Looks like I'll have to get a new 'lid' for the Autox at 7/7/7. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced, comfortable helmet (I wear glasses) appreciated. Also any good experiences buying these online? Thanks, Steve.
  15. Teesside! - that's in the North East of England. The track is relatively new, and is about 5 miles from where I was born. Love the angle with the camera mounted on the front suspension.
  16. Dan, if no joy here you could try the Australians - sounds odd, but many of the sevens running there (known as clubmans or 'clubbies) run with Toyota power. Site is at www.ozclubbies.com I could post a request for you if that helps. Steve.
  17. A journo can drive mine so long as they promise to pay for any damage (and an upgrade of my choice) http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrinjester.gif It's a 2000, stock Zetec with no mods.
  18. Thanks, Jeff, I'll check it out. One of my best mates in England has been racing vintage Alfa's for years all over Europe. Great cars. Steve.
  19. I'll probably have a spare seat from Charlottesville - there's a coach service from NYC to C'ville called - wait for it - Starlight Express. The coach will be way more comfortable than the Caterham http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif Steve. PS; said person could always FedEx their bags down...
  20. Nice, smooth driving http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif Is that an open weekend at VIR? I need to get myself down there, soon. Steve.

Me too. Any Seven is great to drive in my book. One of the best days I ever had at a track was with a 100bhp 'academy' car in the UK http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif
  22. Not often the 4Runner is in the garage, but had to fit new rotors and pads today. I keep forgetting how darn small the 7 is... http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070401_114738_little_and_larg.JPG
  23. Sorry guys, for some reason it would not let me post the pics of the 50's and 60's car.
  24. Not really. But I did get to work with a bunch of them when working with Shell and Ferrari in the late 90's. So here, at Mazda's request are a few to savor. My very own F1 car... http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_154004_my_own_F1_car03.jpg waiting for Mr Schumacher on the main straight at the Ferrari track in Maranello (that's me on the bridge) http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_154444_filming_at_Mara.jpg My other F1 car, this from the 50's Something you'll never see on TV... http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_154642_F1_transporter0.jpg When I win the lottery... http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_154801_250_GTO040.jpg 1960's now, this one's a F2 from the Tasman series. And Shell really do have a gas station inside Ferrari... http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_155013_Shell_at_Marane.jpg And finally, an arty shot at the factory... http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_155133_arty_factory_si.jpg
