Here by popular demand (well, mainly because I found some old prints and finally worked out how to use my scanner ...) are some pics of my old Seven - 1700 Super Sprint - I built in late 1996. This is a standard size English garage - bit tight! As delivered by Caterham - bodywork stacked on Chassis as no room in garage. Engine and gearbox left in neighbor's garage. http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_144836_delivered_web_v.jpg As finished - probably my favorite pic of the car, taken from my bedroom window. That's the road at the top of the pic...http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_145009_overhead_web_ve.jpg Nice rear 3/4 view..http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_145104_classic_rear_we.jpg Finally, could not resist this one, field about half an hour from the house full of Rape seed. Classic Lotus colors... http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070330_145220_lotus_colors_we.jpg Enjoy!

I'll think I have some pics of my old UK seven somewhere. I could scan them and post them. Also... I might have a few pics of some of the Ferrari's in that new Shell ad if anyone's interested?

MAD 7 might be a good fit for you http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/rofl.gif

Al, I remember Aluma Trailers being talked about a while back - no personal experience, but all aluminum and relatively light weight... see here http://www.alumaklm.com/ Steve.

Thanks Rob - I'm not that old http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/sleep.gif

Yes, stock Zetec (147 bhp is starting to sound rather lame in this company!). I wasn't sure about the red interior at first, but now I love it.

The golden rule - in my day at least - was never wear white or stripes... Al's right, creates hot spots for the camera.

probably about time I posted here, so here you go... http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070326_090312_7_in_yard_mail_.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070326_090346_lamp_mail_versi.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070326_090406_steve_7_mail_ve.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070326_090608_7_in_br_horizon.jpg Hope that worked! Steve. Found another one from the blue ridge blat - I call it 'seven sandwich' http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070405_104433_seven_sandwich.jpgstevet2007-04-05 10:44:37

Al, try my secret solution... no hair! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/cryin.gif

Probably a good idea. The 'spotted' section became so popular on Blatchat that they started a sub-section. We'll never have that knid of volume, but every 'spot' would be that much more interesting. And Al, I remember the Hawaii seven being 'spotted' on Blatchat!

Just read that this is rumored to be the most expensive commercial ever made at over $2 million. I can believe it.

We actually made a soundtrack using the sounds of Ferrari engines - old V12's for the bass, newer V10's for the high notes, and everything else in between. Came out pretty well - wish I'd kept a copy. You could get CD's in the stores in Modena and Maranello of nothing but Ferrari engines being revved, so we gave a bunch of these to an engineer and composer and got our track. Sweet music.

Sorry, bit late there...

And no helmet...

Mazda, I posted you back. Brings back great memories. I made six ads for Shell/Ferrari in the late 90's. About as good as paid work gets http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif

Yes, I remember the conversation and I think I brought up the 50th thing so have to take at least some of the blame. For the record; July was not my idea (though the 7/7/7 date is irresistable) http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif

I mailed your question to blatchat... 66 - 71 lb ft was the response.

Gert, love the half doors - an elegant solution. Steve. PS: if you're ever in Virginia, please come polish my car http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif

Al, I think it's a Caterham - looks like the optional 16" wheels to me (not the best for handling BTW). "I like the "suprising v-tec power and handleing over the apparant superior track car" better than both your explanations. It's much more entertaining. BTW, I'm not making that up, if you go to the YouTube page, that's what the owner of the vid actually says." Well, they would say that, I guess. I think the seven community might just be able to outpost the jap/turbo/chipped lot on most sites - not that I'm encouraging a pissing competition or anything http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif

That could be my new marketing pitch http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif

I know these roads, I used to drive these roads - classic narrow British coutry roads through farmland and small villages. It's not easy being the lead dog on these roads - sightlines are not good, other traffic is slow (note the tractor), and there are a lot of small, unmarked entries close to the road. It's much easier to follow someone at speed. The 7 driver is crossing the white line to prevent the other driver trying to overtake - you'll notice another car comes through every time after he does it - he's trying to prevent an accident IMHO. It's also possible you have a 'gentleman driver' here being chased down by a couple of hooligans in what we in the UK seven community used to refer to as an "RS Turbo Nutter Bastard'. Excuse my French.

Works both ways, guys. I just shipped a painting to a customer in England - painting was rolled, frame was dismantled, total weight about 10lbs. USPS was $105 (with no tracking and limited insurance), FedEx quoted $350!
-
I very much doubt it, but I know someone who works up there so will ask the question. They don't allow cars up to the hilltop (where the house is) anymore - you have to park and take a special bus to the top. It is very well organized and the tours are pretty good.
-
The question that interests me is 'why?' Has there been a big increase in accidents or is it this guy just doesn't like cars the way we like cars? I would have thought an action like this could have a pretty big negative impact financially on the area - if groups (like ours) stop coming it would surely lead to a big drop in tourist $'s - or maybe the new guy thinks he can make up the difference in citations and fines http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/mad5.gif Watch this space I guess.

Sal, Can't help with your question, but I do have an old set of main jets off Weber 40's if you want them. They're 1.2mm, so probably too small, but they're jst sitting here doing nothing... Steve.
