  1. Looks like an Atom SV 2+1. :jester:
  2. Mormon Meteor I remember seeing this car up on a pedestal in the Utah capitol building when I was a kid. It is huge but still in the spirit of a Se7en.
  3. We resemble that remark!:hurray: Wouldn't have it any other way.
  4. If this thread has given anyone Elan lust, there is one for sale in Boulder, CO. '69 Elan For Sale I've had some seat time (both as passenger and driver) in this car in the canyons and it is a blast. I know the owner from the local Lotus club. Skip
  5. Only a 2.6 second 0 - 60? Laughably slow, check out this one that does it in 2.1 seconds. 0 - 60 in 2.1 Seconds
  6. If it all works out, I plan to let him have some of the driving fun. :yesnod:
  7. At only $1050 a day it shouldn't add too much to the cost of the trip. I did send Al an email suggesting that we team up for part of the tour in my luxo-barge Miata. When we do the Beartooth, I'd like to suggest several round trips up and down the mountain, its that good. Skip
  8. Al, I got my packet today. Thanks for all the effort and $$ you put into this. If I ever make it to a USA7s event it would be my honor to buy you a beer or other beverage of your choice. Thanks, Skip
  9. Al, Welcome back, good to hear from you again. I also received my packet and I don't remember if I acknowledged it at the time. Thanks for all the effort and expense you put into it. Skip
  10. In one of the related videos this same guy calls the cops to his mobile home cause he is having a fight with his wife. Cop pulls up and he continues to smoke a joint in front of the cop.

    What is it?

No way a .060 over 350 Chevy engine is going to push that tank to 187 mph unless it is down a mine shaft. Might be good for scaring little children on Halloween.
  12. Jay's Elan Interesting video, I wasn't aware of the Gordon Murray connection.
  13. That accounts for the strange motor sounds in the video. I wonder why they made it LHD for what was likely a Japan only car? Skip
  14. That car looked like it was about 3/4 size of a regular Seven when the second, American sized driver got into his car. Neither one sounded like any 1.8 Mazda engine I've ever heard. Sounded more like a two stroke or maybe even a Wankel. There was another video of the unveiling of a car that looked like the design was based on an XK120. Much easier on the eyes than their Seven.
  15. Too cool, I want one.
  16. Flyin' Miata has lowered their prices for the Miata based Westfield SEi, FM Price Configurator No affiliation, etc. just a very satisfied customer of a company that provides the best customer and technical support on the planet.

    LOG 29

If its set up anything like LOG27 the banquet will be where the guest speakers do their thing. Not sure who is scheduled but 27 had Emmo, John Egan, Bob Dance and Bob Darley. A very entertaining evening. They also gave out a lot of door prizes and the trophies for the concours as well as the autoX. Get together with other 7 owners and share a table. The only time for discussion is the cocktail hour and during dinner. You should be able to avoid any discussion of Elite suspensions. I recommend everyone attend. Skip
  18. I'm back home after a night in the hospital and a night with friends. The surgery went well and the doc was able to reattach both tendons. So now starts a long, slow recovery, 11 weeks with my right arm immobilized in a sling and a year to full recovery. The pain is manageable but boredom is likely to be more of a problem. Not being able to drive the 7 this summer will be worst of all. Skip
  19. Thanks for all the good thoughts, I'm off to see the wizard with a knife. I'll post the results in a couple of days. Skip

  21. Ben from Caterham USA told me that they now use a pop riveted bracket for the reverse and rear fog lights rather than these bosses. Skip
  22. It hit 70F in the Denver area today, high 60s for the previous two days so I had both Miatas and the Caterham out for blats. Shoulder surgery tomorrow and the doc says no Caterham for about a year, Miata maybe in 6 months. Not the 3 - 4 month recovery I had been hearing from others who had rotator cuff surgery. So for 3 days I have been storing up grins and memories to last a year. Hope I survive long enough to drive the Caterham again. Skip Stuck driving the Silverado for the foreseeable future
  23. Good idea, really don't want any booms. Most likely I will remove the tank to check it out as it is showing some stains and I smelled a little raw gas back there when I unloaded it from the trailer after the exhaust work. That picture was taken on the first drive last Spring. The car had about 1,500 miles on it and had never been on a wet road. Its not quite so clean now. Skip
