  1. John, I think its a great move. It works well for me as I am already signed up for LOG29 and this will save me a second trip for Se7en events this summer. The weekend before is the 20th anniversary celebration of the Miata in Dallas and I plan to do that one on the same trip. Skip
  2. I have one also and it works well. It took a little while to get used to it. Its the only mirror on my car now. I looked at the Wink mirrors but as Rod pointed out, they are taller than this one and block too much of your forward view. BTW, the person behind the Mirrors for Sevens is Bob Simon, a member of this group and an all around good guy. Its a well made piece and I find it easy to adjust. It does worry me a bit when I let someone else drive my Se7en as I don't think they pay much attention to the mirror. But in a Se7en, in the words of a famous Italian driver "Whatsa behind ya doesn't matter". Skip
  3. I tried that link and got the listing of fiberglass parts. However, Caterham USA is the official site since RMSC is no longer in the Caterham business. Unfortunately the Caterham USA site doesn't have any parts listed on the parts page. Maybe they are updating with new, lower prices. Skip
  4. Me too, I want to be the test driver. :yesnod: Nick Adams who appears early in the video is the fellow who gave me (and many others) a ride on the track in the Lotus 2-11 at LOG27. Skip
  5. I just tried their number and got the answering machine with the usual message. The number I used was 303-765-0247. I believe the CSR is based on an SV frame with the extra 4" width and 3" length. Skip

  7. I received a post card from the magazine announcing that the March 2009 issue will be the last one. It also said "The balance of your subscription will be served by Hot Rod Magazine starting with the April 2009 issue which will be mailed to you in Mid February". Kit Car was mostly Cobra clones but there were usually something on other interesting cars, even the occasional Se7en. Let's see, I have a Caterham, two Miatas and a Silverado, Hot Rod Mag is going to be a real benefit to me. Sport Compact Car magazine has also tanked along with a few others. Skip
  8. Have a cool yule and a frantic first! Se7ens rule.:hurray: Skip
  9. During the trip to the Kansas City Se7ens Gathering this summer fighting head winds going out and coming back, my Silverado got 6.5 mpg towing an 8 x 16 enclosed trailer. I decided it was time to get a smaller more aero efficient trailer. I have now owned four different trailers to haul the Caterham & Miata around and I think this time I got it right, at least for me. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1764000469_DSCN0019.jpg It is a 7 x 14 Haulmark Low Hauler motorcycle trailer. It's roof is 20" lower than my old trailer and has a V nose to further reduce drag. It is only 64" tall inside so I can't stand up straight but then one needs to be humble and bow to the Se7en while attending to its needs in the trailer. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1686176908_DSCN0021.jpg The trailer is a used 2008 model that was purchased in Phoenix and used to move to Colorado Springs. It tows much better than my old one and the brakes seem to be more effective. The V-nose looks to be a great place to stack a set of track tires while traveling. The old one left for Kansas without me today, sold at a small loss but that was offset by keeping the Coleman generator set and the nitrogen bottle that came with it. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/598914746_DSCN0012.jpg

    LOG 29

I'm planning on LOG 29 as well. The trip is a twofer for me as it is the Miata's 20th Anniversary celebration the prior weekend in Dallas. I'll be towing the Caterham from Denver and driving it at both events. Since it has a Miata powertrain, it works for both events. I'll be looking for something to do in the days between Dallas and Birmingham, anyone know of any track days available during that week? Skip
  11. I have to wonder how far up the list the R500 would move on a warm day with some heat in the tires. I hope they test it again in more favorable conditions.
  12. My Caterham is sleeping peacefully in the heated shop, protected from the -19F temps we are having lately. I will start on this winter's modifications after the holidays. Mag chloride and sand/salt have been spread on the streets so it will not be on the road for awhile. Skip
  13. It's a dealership, ya gotta expect this kind of hype.:yesnod:
  14. That would be really old 7's, right?
  15. Those might be fightin' words to Mazda and the people behind the Levante. :yesnod: It's been pointed out to me that the VSR has already been posted. Sorry about the duplication. Mazda, feel free to delete this thread. Skip
  16. From the SEMA show. They call it a street rod (VSR for Cadillac V engined Street Rod) but it certainly has Se7en characteristics. http://www.usa7s.net/ASPNETFORUM/upload/881955323_1cad_vrs.jpg
  17. My first impression as well.
  18. I'm pretty sure that is Willow, filmed in the 60s or 70s? The course looks the same but the signage is different. Skip
  19. Bidding has ended and it didn't make reserve. High bid was $13,998. Would have been a bargain had it sold at that. Skip
  20. :iagree: Randall, you will fit right in with this group of nutcases. Welcome aboard. Skip
