  1. You only found one difference, that doesn't entitle you to a holiday. Although living on Bonaire is pretty much a holiday anyway.
  2. I am not sure exactly how it works, but this is amazingly accurate. The picture below has 2 identical dolphins in it. It was used in a case study on stress levels at St. Mary's Hospital. Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are identical. A closely monitored, scientific study revealed that, in spite of the fact that the dolphins are identical; a person under stress would find differences in the two dolphins. The more differences a person finds between the dolphins, the more stress that person is experiencing. Look at the photograph and if you find more than one or two differences you may want to take a holiday. . . . . . . . . .
  3. Try doing it this way:

Already mailed mine in. Can I start bitching now???
  5. I've found that when my SV is parked near an S3 sized 7 the difference is immediately obvious regardless of color, It's when I see a Se7en parked by itself that I have to look at the mouth to determine which size it is.
  6. Do you by chance have a front view of these same two cars?
  7. I sent the link to one of our LOCO members. He owns Coterie Press http://www.coteriepress.com/home which specializes in car books, especially Lotus. He also writes and photographs them. He has the largest collection of Lotus related books, posters, sales brochures, etc in the country and possibly the world. It fills the basement of his rather large home.
  8. It's going to be 72F here on Friday, I'm headed for a blat on the track.
  9. Ron, Yes, that is my car with the wagon wheels. They had been spoken for for quite awhile and the new owner picked them up today.
  10. If anyone happens to have an extra Panasport in 7 x 15, 38mm offset with the 4 x 100mm bolt pattern, I'd like to buy it for a spare. I put one of the orange wheels on the spare tire carrier and although it certainly draws attention to the brake light area I'd rather have a matching wheel back there.
  11. Tom, Your cheeks look a little rosy but the big grin is still there. Winter has started here. Loveland Pass is closed today and there was 1' of snow at the tunnels by 6PM, the snow is expected to continue until Tuesday afternoon. A-basin and Loveland ski areas both opened this weekend. However, the weatherman promised us 70F temps down here on the flatlands by the weekend. Gotta love Denver for the sunny blue sky and warm Fall days.
  12. The Caterham has a 4 x 4.25" bolt circle. I wanted Panasport type wheels for the car but the only way to get them in the size I wanted and the Caterham bolt pattern was to have them special made at a quoted price of $500 each. A few years ago I had some adapters made so I could use my Miata's orange Kosei race wheels on the Caterham. The hubcentric shoulder on the adapters was too large for the Panasports so bsimon turned them down to fit. Now I can use either set of Miata wheels on the Caterham.
  13. The wagon wheels will no longer be seen on my Caterham. They just didn't look right to me, partially because of their 16" diameter. She is now wearing a set of Panasports with Toyo R-888s in 205/50-15. These are Miata spec wheels with 4 x 100mm bolt circle and 38mm offset. I had to have the wheel adapters trimmed a little to fit the center hole. I like the look of these much better and fresh R-888s really sharpen up the handling.
  14. Mike, Here's a few pictures of it.
  15. That's what I noticed a couple of years ago on my Caterham. I made standoffs out of 1/2" clear plastic dowel and used superglue to attach them to the bottom of the wind wings. I put a soft rubber bumper on the end to protect the sheet metal. They significantly reduce the buffeting.
  16. That works for me. Give Rosie a hug for me once she stops laughing.
  17. Gert, Do you know anyone with a Caterham near you that you could use to test fit the doors? If they can be made to work on a Caterham I'm in for a set.
  18. IIRC Caterham USA charges around $3,500 to assemble the kit. You would have to add a lot of extras to hit six figures but it can be done. About all that is missing from this kit is a regular windscreen and the weather gear if you are planning on making it an all weather street car.

  20. Here are the pictures. I still couldn't get Firefox to load the pictures but Internet Explorer seems to work OK.
  21. I suggested we turn back but he said something about "its just a car" and went on. He had owned a real 427 Cobra awhile back and said if we had been in that one we wouldn't have taken the dirt road.
  22. A friend dropped by this afternoon with his Kirkham Cobra. This one is brushed ali with polished stripes. It has a 427 side oiler bored and stroked to 462 ci, top loader 4 speed and a 3.54 differential. He also owns a Caterham SV but is not on this forum. We took it to Loveland to pick up my wheel spacers from bsimon's machine shop. We brought back one of my Panasport wheels with 205/50-15 tire mounted and it fit very nicely in the Cobra's trunk. I don't think the much bigger tires on the Cobra would fit in there. The car rode very nicely and was comfortable for the 75 mile round trip. About 5 miles of the trip was on dirt roads as we were trying to avoid the interstate and US287 on the trip home. Much less wind buffeting than in a Se7en. The side pipes were a little loud but not all that bad. The engine has only 1,000 miles so he didn't really wind it out but it certainly has a lot of low end torque. We put it up on the lift when we got back to have a look for a ringing noise he could hear but I couldn't. We found a couple of possibilities and secured them with zip ties. The A frames, uprights and other cast and machined parts under there are a thing of beauty. The pictures are in post #6 below
  23. If it were me, I would get the VIN inspection and waltz into the DMV, hand them the paperwork with a smile and see if it flies. You might get lucky or you might have to do the inspection but I think it would be worth a try.
  24. Team orders.
