  1. He's the real estate agent who listed the house I bought. He likes to use his cars in the photo shoots of his listings. The Delorean behind it was the one used for experior shots of my house. I've seen other listings of his using the Birkin. Definitely looks like a great asking price! I'm in the area if people out of the area want someone to take a look at it. I'm relatively new to 7s, have had my birkin about a year and a half now, but happy to give it a look if someone desires.
  2. Have folks here tried the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71rs? It's a 200 treadwear dot approved tire so not necessary the ultimate track tires but I'd love to hear if anyone has experience with them and what they thought. Popular for autoX, on heavier cars on the big track they tend to heat soak. Thought it may not be such a problem on our featherweight cars. Tirerack currently has some 2 year old stock on clearance cheap. May be a good option for me as a street/track tire.
  3. That car is near me. Going to try and see it in person. Toyota v8 motors are unbelievably durable and reliable. My 4.7l v8 lexus was only rated at 263 hp with 330lbs torque but didn't burn a drop of oil at 200k miles when I sold it. The 4l 1uz fe motor in this 7 is more performance oriented than in my suv, and should be closer to 300hp. Could be fun!
  4. @pethier That amazon link takes me to the buy it again page. Unfortunately it shows my buy it again list. Please post a link directly to the product if you can! 😉
  5. So mad I didn't know this was happening. I'm in the portland area! Would have loved to have been there.
  6. I contacted ARE for their recommendations. I bought a high quality aftermarket gasket for a standard focus. Also a stock focus dipstick. ARE says it's a 5 quart pan and 5 quarts read full on the dipstick so it seems all is good. With so much aftermarket on and in my motor I was expecting to have to use more exotic parts! Sorry to hear about the engine trouble! That svt motor should be fun though. 😉
  7. The gold is vastly better. Not the same thing at all!
  8. I have zero problem with purple or yellow cars. It's the combination of the two that doesn't work for me!
  9. Pull the yellow accents if it's vinyl or cover it with black vinyl if it's paint and that purple car would look so much better!
  10. They accepted my application to the group. Very much a project. I took screenshots. Hopefully this shows enough of the ad.
  11. I had suggested to a local guy selling a WCM recently he list the car here. He had heard of the forum but had never been on it at all. He sold the car on FB marketplace in about two weeks to a guy several states away. He was getting enough inquiries as it was he didn't feel the need. I get the feeling lots of 7 owners don't even know this forum exists.
  12. Oops. It was late night when I spotted this after a long day. Yes, ad clearly states importer built. Doh! Nice looking car though.
  13. New westfield listing popped on facebook near me. Factory build according to the ad. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2212096269150104/?ref=browse_tab
  14. I've been considering the Conti force for a street tire on my Birkin. Good to hear your impression of them! Lack of noise would be disconcerting to me on track. Must be our lighter cars. Lack of noise would be disconcerting to me on track. I'm used to "talkative" tires.
  15. Plenty of work you've accomplished! Well done. What tires did you go with? I purchased a Birkin 7 last fall which is a beautiful car inside and out. The wcm I'm looking at is definitely not the same fit and finish and certainly not pretty the way my birkin is. The s2k motor/tranny, additional cabin space and independent rear end are a big plus though. On rough roads the solid rear axle in the birkin is punishing. This affordable local wcm has me intrigued though I definitely don't need yet another car, let alone a second seven. I may buy it, drive both and sell off the losing car next spring.
  16. I'm currently negotiating on that newly listed wcm ultralite. It's local to me. Will be taking it to a mechanic on monday.
  17. Curious about the wrap. Diy or professionally done? Interested in the cost. I'm looking at a wcm that's not exactly pretty. Wrap might be just the thing for it. Also curious if the mods suggested in Bruce's wcm guide have been done. The reinforcements, bump steer brackets, etc.
  18. Thank you for the help everyone!
  19. Was hoping to find the wcm guide bruce mentioned he wrote in a thread. Found a wcm for sale locally and was hoping to learn more about them.
  20. I'm not finding the library of tech help I've seen some talk about. Does anyone have a link to share?
  21. My Birkin just started leaking at the thermostat gasket on the Raceline water rail. I figure while I'm replacing the gasket I may as well put in a new thermostat. Unfortunately I don't see numbers on the existing thermostat that pull up on a search. The raceline website also isn't helpful. Can anyone tell me what thermostat you are using with Raceline water rails?
  22. Definitely a different tire. R888 is old tech. Hoping the new toyo R is a good option. Not likely the same pace the new soft avons were but they are a lighter tire than most, like avon, which seems to be helpful in our featherweight cars. Doesn't seem like it should be this hard to find a really good tire but light cars on track aren't exactly a massive market to sell to. Guess folks were spoiled having avon available all these years.
  23. The fast knowledgeable turbo Miata guys running time attack and super Miata racing really stress the idea that wheel width needs to match tire width for a racing tire to work optimally. I imagine that 205 on a 6" rim may have impacted the front tires ability to do their job.
  24. @Anthony if you are serious about that car you might let everyone know it's location. Might just be a member here that lives near by. I got lucky that way with my Birkin I bought last fall. Craigslist ad half the country away from me but one of the incredibly knowledgeable and helpful regulars here lived close by!
  25. And now that I had pretty much decided the Toyo RR was the tire to try (lightweight, soft sidewall, durable for lots of heat cycles) toyo just announced it's being replaced by the Toyo R. Lots of hoopla over the new compound and carcass being improved. Of course it's heavier and has a stiffer sidewall. They seem to have mainstreamed it for heavier cars. 😑🤬
