I think that works well for a version 1 edition. I suspect it will give a better cold air seal too. Probably no extra hp though!

Yes there is some truth to that. Requires more of a ‘V’ shape cornering shape than the usual arc. The other trick was to use a spool diff and make the front soft and rear stiff so that the inside rear would lift up on hard cornering allowing the car to rotate quicker as you only had one wheel touching track surface. The spool would then help traction out of the corner once both wheels were back on tarmac. Again a V shape cornering shape works best. Spools are normally found on a drag strip.

A 3.6 will lower revs. If it were me I would drop from 3.9 but check road speeds via a gear calc spreadsheet. I can attach one here if you need. I’m not surprised it failed. 10-12K is all you can expect from the Titan internals on average. They are poor quality. I have a BMW/Titan diff on the workbench that failed at 4400 miles. Explore the warranty with Greg but your mileage probably eliminates that option. Look to buy a whole new unit and then replace your existing. You can then rebuild what you have and sell to offset cost.

@CBuffWhich diff do you have? Sierra Ford 7 inch or 2010 BMW 1 Series with Titan internals? Your car’s age plus the fact the LSD failed so early leads me to think you have a BMW diff, which is different to Blake. You may have a warranty claim too - the Titan internals have been well known for failing early. Different diffs mean different driveshafts. Have not heard of a Tracsport diff going into a BMW housing but I’m sure it’s possible. Also you would want to check what final drive you want as this is a good opportunity to make a change. It is possible to do Wrexler and Wavetrac internals into the Caterham BMW diff plus take the final drive ratio from 3.9 to 3.6.

This subject has not been addressed and is remarkably common although most owners ignore it. So your somewhat stock 620 under bonnet configuration will look like this: The cold air intake is the silver looking pipe that heads down and curves to the left to a black box then the rubber grommet that sits between the intake and the inside of the bonnet. To rule out the bleeding obvious by those unfamiliar with the 620 engine - it has a supercharger. The traditional upgrade path for regular Caterham Duratec engine owners of Caterham roller barrel throttle bodies is not a viable option. Not a lot of room to work with either - and the photo is an SV. Knowing that, lets see what you can suggest for Pickles.

Nova tires now exist. I had a photo shared with me at a UK track yesterday where Nova were doing the first UK test of the new 13 inch ZZS and 13 inch ZZR Extreme. Tread pattern identical. Not sure I can share photo without someone getting into trouble. Nova is branded where Avon once was. The ZZR was a 185/55 sizing. Could not see the ZZS sizing from photos. The Caterham looked to be running a square set up with that size all round - makes sense as it was a 310 spec. Obviously no results of testing are available - it will be a corporate effort to see what the newly produced tires do in the real world. Track day or motorsport only - will not be road legal unless you ignore such niceties. But at least Nova tires exist and have been seen in the wild.

This is a 2026 event. I don’t have dates for 2028 yet.

Not sure on the name, but those thinner wink mirrors for sevens were produced by a USA7s member, Bob Simons. Sadly he passed away earlier this year. You could try searching for golf cart mirrors - they were using a narrow version of the wink mirror at some point.

@bball7754 Steve - Do you have a photo of your trailer and the name of the manufacturer who makes it. Still think that is the best lightweight se7en trailer with lots of flexibility and openings for access.

Personally I think a trailer is over-rated. I decided a garage at a race track was far more practical and gave far better gas mileage. Only downside is everyone rocks up and empties my beer, wine, and soda fridges. Aerodynamically, clearly the garage is far less efficient than a trailer.

Yes - you are thinking of it correctly. There are three types of rear suspension that you can find on a 620 - de Dion, de Dion and watts, and just plain watts. Not sure why there are variations tbh? Its only on the 620 too. Not seen them in person so not sure how they are set up/configured. I think the R500 may also have had a de Dion and watts rear end set up.

Is your 620S a de Dion rear end car or one of the less common watts linkage cars? Caterham have used both types of rear end on the 620.
