  1. Cheers Croc for the comments, Neil who took them is a really good photographer and does lots of sports events, when he pulled his largest lens out of his kit bag and told us the price....well lets just say I could have purchased another Lotus 7 replic with what it cost.
  2. A few more pics. http://www.nzsnaps.com/Motorsport/Fiat-Lancia-track-day/i-ftHG57r/1/L/20120317135514NZS4880-L.jpg http://www.nzsnaps.com/Motorsport/Fiat-Lancia-track-day/i-j9Mv2DQ/1/L/20120317135713NZS4920-L.jpg http://www.nzsnaps.com/Motorsport/Fiat-Lancia-track-day/i-24R2xqD/1/L/20120317135737NZS4944-L.jpg More can be seen here http://www.nzsnaps.com/Motorsport/Fiat- ... &k=3hDfFJw
  3. Also we had a local Fiat/Lancia club trackday here this weekend amd my Lotus7 forum got a invite along, we managed to get 14 cars along for the day and were the biggest group of cars represented. One of the forum members is pretty good with the camera so we let him lose on the infield on one session. http://www.nzsnaps.com/Motorsport/Fiat-Lancia-track-day/i-3hDfFJw/1/L/20120317115925NZS4742-L.jpg http://www.nzsnaps.com/Motorsport/Fiat-Lancia-track-day/i-5zW2wZm/1/L/20120317135654NZS4899-L.jpg http://www.nzsnaps.com/Motorsport/Fiat-Lancia-track-day/i-V6wwWnJ/1/L/20120317125500NZS4829-L.jpg http://www.nzsnaps.com/Motorsport/Fiat-Lancia-track-day/i-TgZTFgH/1/L/20120317140334NZS5039-L.jpg
  4. Just a small update to my car. I have decided to go away from the Toyota 20v airbox snails i have been using after hearing positive results from guys over at the OZClubbies forum switching to 70mm ram tubes with Uni Filter socks, so I orderd some from a local guy who spins them up himself, i orderd with a specific size for the belmouth so i could get the Uni Filter socks over them and have to say Im very impressed with the quality of the product and they were exactley as orderd. Some pics http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/IMG_1528.jpg http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/IMG_1527.jpg Fitted minus the Fiter Socks http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/IMG_1530.jpg I have to say that this little change has made a massive difference to the car with a much better throttle responce and over all the engine feels much crisper as its getting a lot more cold air now straight through the side grill.
  5. The car Hampster was driving wasn't a replica car it's was a Morgan built by them. I was supprised how well it went too and think it would be a real neat c,ar to own.
  6. You can always grab all the Top Gear episodes in torrent format here and its updated a day after each new episode airs, all 720p/1080i versions are in MKV format, i have grabed every episode from series 01 -18 and have them on my media center. http://www.finalgear.com/
  7. Hi guys Things are going ok here still a bit shaky with some 4.0s coming through every now and then but its settled down a bit more. As for the city, Christchurch city center is still mainly closed with 700 buildings too still be taken down by demolition with the 4 main big hotels just staring to come down and also the central city cathedral in the heart of the city which sufferd massive damage has now been give the demolition order too, 12000 house's have been put into red zones which means the house or the land can not be occupied again so the goverment will buy you out and you move on, rebuilding houses is a bugger as the insurance companies are playing hardball by not insuring new houses because of the on going aftershocks. Christchurch is going to take a long time to fix with local body councils giving estimates of 20 years + with a country of 4 million people and only 980,000 of them tax payers you can understand the maths and see why, the roading infustructure alone will cost of 20 billion they are saying, and I dont think NZ can afford it myself. As for me & Marg we are still planning to move to Brisbane Australia, as our house is in a good area we have seen house prices jump as people get cashed up in the red zone and look to buy out of town, we have seen prices go up 50-80K and we will take advantage of that increase as every bit will help with a move across to Aussie as we lose 25% on the exchange rate our house was built to the new EQ standards that came out a couple of years before the quake so its all good for us and anyone who buys our house. So for now the plan is too still seek a new life in Aus, I have lived in NZ for 25 years and it was time for a change anyway. Cheers Stephen
  8. After getting off my arse I decided to make a video using Windows Movie Maker too see how easy it was too use and produced this, its in 720p on Youtube and has come out ok and took all of 20mins to sort out and render. Info 5min video from some 2hrs of video I took on a day trip with 2 other cars, its of the climb out from Okains bay on Banks Peninusla in the South Island NZ. Red car is a NZ Fraser powerd by a 4AGE and the Yellow car is a local McGregor Motorsport built car powerd by a MX5 1800. Video footage is a bit bumpy because the road was.

  13. Looks great allthough im not a fan of brookland screens on the more modern Caterham, but you need a little one for the radar detector one little stone will take that sucker out.

  15. Jackal if I didn't play computer games and needed a new PC I would certainly be getting a Mac now, after using one while on holiday I was very impressed by the Lion OS. But I play a lot of computer games rangining from sims to FPS so a Windows based PC is a requirement for me.
  16. I don't think its available for the Mac cant see anyone on the forums talking about a Mac version sorry.

  18. I meant to add some in game screen shots to show how good the cars look in game as the video has lost a lot of quality. Some of these are very large Caterham http://forum.wmdportal.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4898&d=1325784651 http://forum.wmdportal.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4970&d=1325887815&thumb=1 http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/994/pcars2012010616545992.png
  19. A small 3 lap race in 720p from the race car simulation Project Cars which I have just got. The latest alpha build has nearly finished the Caterham R500 physics and made it such a fun car to drive on the track, with the force feedback on my wheel the car feels very much like my Seven replica does on a track now and behave's quite similar. The AI in the game still find it hard to drive the cars and are a very much a work in progress but never the less fun to race as you will see just before the first corner If your interested in computer racing sims this is well worth checking out. Google WMD Games Click the video to go to you tube and watch a larger screen version (well worth it in 720p)
  20. Cheers as soon as im home from work I will make the paypal payment and let you know when its done.
  21. Would you be willing to send one to NZ if the exchange rate is favorable ?
  22. Let me put another spin on it, I had a 1600 xflow car and swapped it for a 1600 20v Toyota Blacktop motor (similar hp to a Zetec) early last year as I wanted more HP. Just yesterday I had the pleasure of driving a 1966 1500cc Orignal Lotus S3 (may have been a S2). I can tell you now I had more fun in that car over the last 2 days and had a massive smile on my face from driving it and now wish I could swap my car back to its 1600 xflow motor. Why you may ask, I can't put my finger on it fully but it was the sound of the xflow and the slightly more docile nature of the car that made it more fun and relaxing, don't get me wrong I still have a love affair with my car but really wish I never had done the engine change the xflow suited it better.
  23. If you want top end speed at the end of the track then change to a areo screen which you have done, but really are you worried about it that much ??, these cars are all about the corners and that's we're you will win over nearly every other car on the track and have the most fun.
  24. Thanks for the information guys.
  25. Hi does anyone know what Birkin used for the front disk (rotor) on a 1997/8 narrow track model, I belive the calipers are of a VW Golf, I need to change my fronts on my Birkin as they are getting glazed and hard. Cheers Stephen
