  6. Hi guys we had another snow run on the weekend with 5 members from the NZ Lotus 7 forum, its was bloody cold about 6deg F, not quite as much snow as last year as it was quite a few days old. After being over in Aussie for 2 weeks I can tell you my nuts were freezing off...now Alaskossie is going to turn up here and say that aint cold but it sure felt cold to us  Photos from different drivers http://i.imgur.com/BdWhH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XLpBN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0cgZU.jpg
  7. Why dont you just do this and buldge it out a bit at the front, its what I did, you could paint it black to suite the car, made from the mesh that custom cars use for the front grills found in most automotive shops. http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/Engine%20Swap/BirkinFriday_20th10.jpg
  8. Thanks for sharing, great article and a big smile on your face Twobone.
  9. Mike Ghaaza is a member of my NZ forums so I can tell you they will more than likely be 15" wheels with Toyo R888 tyres. We are are looking forward too seeing this car go in Christchurch NZ as we have a member who has 320hp at the rear wheels and it's quite a fun machine through the gears, Ghaazha's build is on another level and seeing it on the road and Ghaaza giving it the welly is going to be FUN......Stand well back boys here he goes
  10. I have no other protection on my car other than very thin Stainless steel rear guard protectors which are a bit tougher than Ali ones, I change these to new ones every 2 years as they look a little batterd by then. I have plenty of stone chips on the nose cone and front and rear guards still but this is after 30000km's of hard driving the car on the road and these are NZ roads which have all sorts of crap on them. I look at every stone chip as part of the cars story and persona and they will get all fixed up with a new paint job every 3 years which is much cheaper than getting any Clear Bra film of 3M wrap done in NZ, its how the car is, I love it's rugged looks as it ages and so do others.
  11. Yeh the sound is much better as I used the skeloton back and it has imprived the sound a lot, prior to this I have always used the fully enclosed back. W We really did have the track to our selfs as there were 20 Mini's there and 4 Lotus Seven replicas and by the afternoon I was just running lap after lap after lap on a deserted track and started to do 3 lap sessions and them coming in to place the GoPro into different positions for the video footage you see above, by 3pm I was worn out :auto:. As foir QLD/Brisbane I havent even looked at what tracks are around the local area yet, heading back for another holiday in May/June so looking forward to some more exploring.
  12. Some video from the trackday I went to yesterday using multiple camera angles and trying to match up the cuts so they were fluid for the track. Turn up the volume and head over to Youtube for the 720p version :0
  13. I have stuff in my Birkin boot and dont hear it rattle on blats or have it move about but then I dont have any tyre gear as I dont carry a spare as it weighs too much, but then the foam is a intresting concept for what your trying to do with it.
  14. 12mins of footage from the GoPro HD2 from the 90mins I had of the drive to Kaikoura for lunch, 3 forum members went Clives7 (Black/yellow Mcgregor), 7plus (Yellow McGregor) and myself. Video is from Mt Lyford lodge State HWY70 to Kaikoura and the eating stop BBQ On The Beach. The weather was fantastic with it being teeshirt driving temps by 10am the road was in good condition except for the slippery damp spots where the sun doesnt get too. Its in 720p on YouTube and well worth watching there or downloading and watching on a HD TV, I also spelt kaikoura wrong in 2 places
  15. Nice driving Croc the 2.3L Duratec sounds great with the new mic setup on the GoPro 2, I must try out a external mike setup soon.
  16. Another video from the trackday including the Dipper part of the track which doesnt get used by cars much. Once again in 720p at Youtube

  23. Tried it for 3 months and while its good and I loved the MX5 I couldnt be botherd with the grind up to the better classes, I love multiplayer racing and im current playing WMD Project C.A.R.S which is in the alpha stage of tesing at the moment and waiting for the multiplayer component to come into the game, they have a Caterham R500 Supersport in at the moment with a Caterham classic coming next along with a load of other cool cars which I love to drive. Anyone can access the alpha test as you buy a tool pack that allows you to get access to the test gget the whole game FREE once its published. http://www.wmdportal.com/ Some screen shots of the Caterham R500 in game http://www.wmdportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/019.png http://www.wmdportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/0018.jpg http://www.wmdportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/0062.jpg Still a long way before the title goes gold and a lot of testing to be done in the game but I have had my $60 euros worth allready and get a full version when its complete.
  24. finished effect http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/IMG_1549.jpg I thought I would add this in too as I didn't put a picture up of my car with the socks on the new 70mm trumpets, I love the look of the engine bay now with these on. http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/IMG_1548.jpg
  25. Last week while I was out for a drive with one of the NZ Lotus Seven forums in his Fraser I noticed he had a couple of halogen spotlights in his grill and the thing I notice while ahead of him was how visable his car was with them on and his main headlights, even at a very far distance you could see his car lights very clearly, after a couple of close calls this week in Grace with cars pulling out in front of me or turning across me I decided they were a good idea. So off to Supercheap and $70 later for 2x 50w spotlights ($29.95) and relay and in line fuse and the variuos connectors needed I was set to go, I removed my radiator and took it too work and welded some mounting lugs on the bottom and then had one of the guys machine upo some nice ali stalks to put the spotlights on. once the radiator was fitted back on and the lights mounted it took about 2 hours to wire all up through the replay and inline fuse and it was all set to go. Im very please with the result and im sure its going to help me be more visable to cars around me now. Some pics http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/IMG_1546.jpg http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/IMG_1545.jpg They work http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/IMG_1547.jpg
