  1. I prefer the look of the TMC Costin--and Frank Costin had designed a few other Lotus as well. http://www.carpictures.com/pics/100/07E6I091805646B/TMC-Costin-1600-1985-07E6I091805646B.jpeg http://www.carpictures.com/vehicle/07E6I091805646/TMC-Costin-1600-1985 Even this is kinda ugly, though. :ack:
  2. This is a good idea. I'd like to find one. There is an older thread on this topic. I had the perfect 3rd brake light on my old Birkin. I got it at one of the local auto parts stores, but I don't remember which store, or which brand. It was a common thing at the time, but these things have since almost disappeared. Here's the one I had, mounted upside down and with the "legs" removed: http://usa7s.com/vb/picture.php?albumid=60&pictureid=438 http://usa7s.com/vb/album.php?albumid=60&pictureid=438

  4. You'd probably fit in a Stalker just fine.

  6. On my old Birkin (also a 99) I upgraded from Webers to Jenveys. I reused the Weber manifold that was already on the car, so the alignment of the air filters and the bonnet remained the same. Sorry, I can't be of more help. Photos at lotus.changeip.org
  7. I had this symptom in my Birkin when new--when the car was assembled (not by me) they did a lousy job of trimming the fuel line. Crumbs of rubber found their way into the pump. Sometimes the pump would slow down, and a couple of times it stopped altogether. I replaced it with a similar pump from the auto store. Found a near match in a kit intended for upgrading old pickup trucks to electric pump. Don't remember the brand, it was over 10 years ago.
  8. The trailer has been sold.
  9. Yes, the trailer is still available!
  10. I have lowered my price to $1000
  11. North side of Indianapolis.
  12. I started a new thread. My bad. Its here.
  13. I've given up on craigslist. I'll post a new thread with all the details here.
  14. I sold my Birkin, but I still have the trailer for sale. Brunton Auto built this in 2006. It is one of their earlier prototypes. • Construction is of welded 1" RHS mild steel tube. • Bed 70" by 144" • 18' long including tongue • 800 lb. • The ramps are plywood. • It is equipped with electric brakes. • It will fit through an 8' wide garage door. • Tilting bed • hitch post -- bolts to the garage floor and secures the trailer so you can store your car on the trailer in the garage. Included with the trailer is a spare tire/wheel. The trailer is registered in the state of Indiana. I am offering the trailer for sale as-is, where-is on the north side of Indianapolis. Leave a private message for me if you are interested. http://lotus.changeip.org/~birkin/ForSale/TrailerForSale/Thumbnails/2.jpghttp://lotus.changeip.org/~birkin/ForSale/TrailerForSale/Thumbnails/5.jpg Click here to see more photos.
  15. My trailer is still for sale. I have reposted it on craigslist with a few more photos. I'm asking $1500.00 http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/2276068687.html
  16. My Birkin sold, but not the trailer. I am offering it separately: (now expired) YouTube - StalkerTrailerPrototype.wmv

  19. I get it now!
  20. Thanks for posting it here for me, Jack, and for the kind words.
  21. I'm finally back on USA7s, so I can answer for myself. It's a stock 1997 Zetec, some folks call it a ZX1; all the upgrades are external. Emerald ECU, Jenvey throttle bodies, Raceline oil sump and water rail. Tony Indianapolis
  22. CHILL (the Indianapolis Lotus club) will be hosting a track day at Putnum on Monday, June 18. The focus will be driver education, and there will be LOTS of instruction available at this event. Note that this will be the Monday following the USGP in Indianapolis. More information will be posted at >http://indylotus.com soon.
  23. Another car club I am a member of answered the "limited membership" question in a very useful and clever way... Instead of setting the requirements for membership around car ownership, we set the requirements around behavior. This has worked quite well. The requirements are: * Age 18 years or older * pay your dues * follow the rules (ie remain in "good standing") The rules are simple: don't do anything that undermines the purpose of the club, and follow the rules set forth for each event by the folks designated as in charge of the event. This makes the club much more inviting to non-owners (wanabees) while still meeting the legal requirements and giving the club control over events. Members who don't comply can be terminated by a process defined in the by-laws.
