I took a spin through the forum. The only one I saw discussed at length was the Spec Miata seat. I think the photo over the crest with the passenger tire off the ground is due to curbing. There is a dramatic weight shift there, however. The other photo I think is just cornering. ha HA!

Yesterday was finally my seven's first day at the track. Took it to Reno-Fernley Raceway. Great track. Needs some resurfacing work, but the elevation changes, tight corners, many different configurations, etc., make it a great track. While cornering a bit too hard, my stock Birkin Sport seats broke. It may have been a defective seat, but all day I felt that the sidewall of the seat was flexing way too much. Anyway, now I am looking for a race seat to replace the sport seat. One I am currently looking at is the Spec Miata Seat (http://www.ultrashieldrace.com/prod.php?id=9). Any feedback on that seat? Any suggestions on something else? I am only 5'8" with a 32-33" waist, if that helps. I am looking for great lateral support, HANS compatible and lightweight. Here are some photos from the day. As you can see, I really lean into the seats (overacting, drama queen).

Thanks. I was also looking at that upcoming track day that GGLC is running.

Anyone gone out for one of their open lapping days? I am thinking of heading down For an upcoming day at Thunderhill. It would be nice if I could stay local and run at Fernley, but I can't seem to locate anything at the track other than motorcycle and SCCA days.

That four inches makes a big difference in a seven. It feels a bit like a Cadillac when you sit in an SV - luxury seven.

That's the plan. The only thing that would destroy my plans would be snow on Friday in the mountains. The forecast looks good at this point. -

I live up at Lake Tahoe (6400 ft) and everywhere I go, there is significant altitude change (1k+ ft). The Haltech system would not handle this. By the time I got fed up with adjusting the fuel trim while on the fly, I learned that the system would take a barometric sensor. I had already added a vacuum system to help with the manifold pressure reading with little success. I also could never get the car to cold start correctly, even after messing with the various inputs affecting this. This made for a uncomfortably usable car. Tom, the Birkin dealer in CO, has replaced my Haltech with a Typhoon system. I should be picking up the car later this week - but he reports that the car runs perfectly at various altitudes and cold starts on the first turn. The Haltech system is more advanced. I think I was one of the earlier cars using that system. I was promised a working tune from Dick when I ordered that part up - I did not receive it. The car spent a full day being tuned so that it would run. While it ran fine at the altitude it was tuned for, it ran rich or lean when the altitude changed as little as 500 feet. It didn't work for me, but I have a unique situation. The Typhoon system is also close to a thousand dollars cheaper. -
I am going to try and make it. and bump.

Absolutely. I never got a chance to show the car to Skip either when I brought it out from CO because of weather issues. This time, I will be sure to swing down that way. -

Nope, haven't driven it since the fall. There is too much snow here (five feet of base on the front lawn) - but the car is back in CO right now. I had Tom change my ecu from the Haltech system to the Typhoon and handle a few other items. I am waiting for a carbon boot cover to come in and then I will likely go pick up and bring it back. I think I brought it out from CO last year in mid-April and it started snowing about 30 mins after I got it here and in the garage. -

Car finally got weighed (and corner balanced) today. It has a rear diffuser on it as well, so I added a little weight. Came in at 1260 lbs with 31 lbs of fuel. WHAT? I was looking for under 1400 lbs - this is outstanding. -
Mike, have you noticed any difference with these? I see on their website two varieties and wondered if you had any opinion on which to go with.

It has never seen the scales. -
I got mine from Massive (http://www.massivespeedsystem.com/) which is who Dick at Texas Motorworks was using for a while but I think no longer is. With stage II cams, mine was like $1800 or something and was essentially a new motor. I had some trouble with the guy who runs the shop when I tried to return some throttle bodies to him after waiting 29 days for him to not provide a replacement for damaged parts. Based on my experience with him, I would be careful doing business with him.

Thanks everyone. Plates arrived last night. Put them on during lunch today. Didn't notice the reflection when I snapped the shot, but I think you can still see the plate. -
Mike, well done. That car looks outstanding. You have skills when it comes to modding your cars. Did you have the diffuser painted or did it come black? That and the canards will have to go on my list of mods after I replace that ghetto stock fuel filler cap my car has on it.

Great plate. And good that he put the car to use.

I tried to title it as a "Birkin S-3". NV said it will be a "Spec. Construction Birkin S-3". This thing is still not titled though. In what has been my experience with this vehicle since June 1 of over a year ago, I am waiting for Dick at TMW to provide me with something. Almost a month has passed since I put in a simple paperwork request. But then again, my car took almost 6 months to be delivered even though I was promised only a few months by Dick. I should not be surprised. Got to love it... -

I think the lady at the DMV thought I was nuts that I was happy after I spent a bunch of time there and walked out without a title and registration... -

So, strike one at the DMV. Got through all inspections but was stopped at the counter for not having an MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) and a clear Bill of Sale from Texas Motor Works. But they did give me a cut to the front of the line pass and a 30 day temp tag. Now, just waiting for Dick to assist with providing the necessary documentation... -

So, I have some high aspirations for getting my car registered on Monday. I think I am going to go the specialized plate route. Want to see which ones you guys like. They are all available in Nevada: 7SUPER7 5TNG W8 FITNGW8 ONRAILZ LIGHTW8 SPRSPED GO FSTR LAWBRKR SHOTGUN SPR 7 WHTISIT I think my favorites are 7SUPER7 and SPRSPED. I was going to get FITNGW8 for my Exige before I sold it. I am not sure it fits the seven as well as the Exige has a much more aggressive look. Maybe I should put it up for a vote. -
That is where it is. Right underneath the headers. Thanks!

Anyone know where the VIN on a newer Birkin frame is located? I know my car has one, but I don't recall ever running across it during the construction. Thanks all.
