Robert Urfer came over to my house yesterday and we went over my Rotus and talked about the similarities and differences of our two cars. He liked my highbeam switch .. so I gave him a copy of the circuit relay wiring and reference to the switch. He got a spare front nose grill with a 7 which was a miscut from the UK. I hope it fits his Rotus. It was nice to meet him and drink beer too! Rob Mitchell

I fabricated a bracket to fasten the turn switch to the dash .. Painted the bracket black .. and drilled holes through the lower dash bar to bolt in place beside the free steering spindle. Now I have a real turn signal lever ! I still need to wire it up to make the light at the end of the turn signal blink. Rob http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/845833661_turn signal switch.jpg

Check out Jay Leno's Rocket at Jay Leno's Garage. You may have to suffer through a GM commercial first. I really like the disappearing headlights! Rob

GC Switch brand: silver bat switch. Here's the part number: 35-0153-0000 which is the ON-OFF-(ON). Rob

I wired in my new High Beam Headlight Switch this weekend. I was not pleased with the way that Rotus had wired the headlights .. there was a cheap ON-OFF-ON switch that selected between low and high .. after pulling out the park / head light main switch. So .. I rewired the main switch to activate the low beams when pulled out .. and .. I wired my new ON-OFF-(ON) switch to activate the Hi beams via a relay that cuts off the low beams. (ON) means momentary on .. which means that I can flash my high beams briefly if necessary. The relay is the standard 5 terminal automotive relay. Rob Mitchell

Well if I have the "death grip" on my steering wheel .. I want that horn button in the center of the wheel and the signal lever nearby! Rob

Nice .. I got mine off eBay 2 years ago. It was advertised as a replica .. but the numbers are slightly different. When I still had a plain front grill on my Rotus I was thinking of getting wooden KAR120C numbers from Michael's craft store and painting and wiring them to the grill. Now I have a 7 grille. Maybe I'll remove my KAR120C and bring it to the Tail of the Dragon! Rob (you should change the subject of this thread to cars with KAR120C http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1817789191_kar120c2.jpg

I finally went with this one .. off eBay. It is well made !! The movement of the lever feels really good! I removed several unnecessary wires .. and just kept three wires for the switch and one for the light at the end of the lever which works through grounding. If I decide to use the light .. I will need two diodes from each of the directional circuits to make the light work. I fabricated a bracket to fasten it to the dash .. Still have some more drilling in the dash to do. Interesting about the Sierra name. The front end of the Dutton sure is different ... and the rear tail looks retro '60s muscle car. Maybe the buyers of the Dutton and Bantam will show up here. Rob -
Where can I get Head light Grill Covers? Wire kind which would protect the headlights from rocks .. like what is in this pic .. Rob http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/737464609_grilles.jpg

I would be interested in the upper arms .. if mine are not the stronger ones. Can you make a pic of these? I would be interested in one exhaust shield if someone wants just one also. I'm interested in the ball joints. Would you post the part number of the ball joints so I can get an idea of price and include in the Rotus parts list? Re: Calipers .. I've got my old set which I will probably clean up, hone and rebuild. I think that the rest of us Rotus purists could pool our parts for the future. Rob -
There has never been a good movie featuring a hot air balloon! :ack: Rob

What about this Bantam on eBay recently? It is not mentioned in Dennis Ortenburger's book.
