  1. What is this angle?? How are the tail lights fastened? Close up pic? BTW: This is not the same car that you bought from the Custer estate! Rob
  2. Umm .. Someone bleached your seven! Welcome wile7! Rob M.
  3. Looks great! Patience .. never fun to bleed without help from a friend. Rob M
  4. Today I realized that I made a mistake when I installed the new calipers .. so I jacked up the front end and remounted both calipers properly. Then I cleaned one headlight .. it had dirt in it .. and was not seated properly .. I had to take a hacksaw to the bolt holding the ring because it was totally rusted. I need to buy new stainless bolts to hold the rings in place. I also wired in a relay by which the three reservoir float sensors can activate the dash light. This is much more reliable than before .. because the sensor switches do have some induction leak. Then I finally figured out the problem with the Muth Multifunction Module simulating an alarm tic. Got that function working with a toggle switch in the dash. It makes the mirrors briefly flash about every 5 seconds. So now I can be better seen when on the road. I also tested the horn function .. by which the Muth Module makes the mirrors flash rapidly. I still need to wire in the function by which the Muth Module makes the mirrors flash rapidly when the car is in reverse. Today I also ordered the Back Off XP module .. which will make the LED lights on the roll bar flash when the brakes are applied and when the car is in reverse. Rob Mitchell
  5. I think that I'll stay with my Aarms for now .. until 7/7/07. Robert: Do your Aarms look like Mazda's? I still want the two lower ball joints, exhaust shield, and if you will throw in the two upper ball joints that would be great! Rob Mitchell
  6. Very nice tech display you have there .. makes my car feel so .. ... .... 20th century! Rob M.
  7. Umm .. What's holding the front end up in the air? Levitation? Nice job! Rob M
  8. I fooled around with the stone guards and a new headlight assembly last night .. The guards came with three clips .. which I was able to fit within the headlight ring .. and then clip the guard within the clips .. not elegant but functional .. Today I mounted the battery cutoff switch in the dash at far right .. First I cut the vinyl covering the steel dash plate into wedges .. and taped them away from the intended hole area .. then used two successive step drill bits to drill and achieve the proper diameter. Then I pushed the switch the wrong way though the dash which forced the winyl wedges to stay in place for the proper placement of the switch from behind the dash. Looks great! Works great! And I wired in the connector to recharge the battery at the same cutoff terminal. One of those projects that went just perfect from the beginning to end. Rob
  9. I was wishing to drill a hole for my new battery cut off switch .. and it requires a 1" hole .. so a friend loaned his two step drill bits .. Made the project go so smoothly .. so easy to use! I started with the smaller diameter step bit and then used the larger bit to get the right size! Now I have a perfect hole size for my cut off switch. Very pricy though .. glad he had them for me to borrow! 10. Me too .. BIG time ... Yeah .. I'm working in a carport after hours .. after dark .. and I'm always afraid of disturbing the neighbors who sleep twenty yards away .. Save the old ones .. for us Rotus mortals! Rob
  11. At one time I was interested in the Corbin Merlin Roadster .. but the company fell into bankruptcy. :cuss:  I liked it better without that colored nose thing over the HD engine. :ack: Rob http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1491011749_merlin_corbin_motors_roadster_01.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1680022797_bmerlin3.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/680636620_merlinmain.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/37674313_merlin.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/153097022_merlin4.jpg
  12. Yellow .. I have an original Lotus fender .. which has cuts in it for Rotus Lights ... and some cracks ... It will be about 6 weeks before I remove it though. Rob
  13. I have the Odyssey 680MJ and a $40 recharger .. which is great! I am adding a batt cut off switch today. Rob M.
  14. Congrats !! Well done! Rob.
  15. It's later when they hurt! :ack: Rob
  16. Looks great! Great DIY! Rob
  17. During a lul at work last night (0300) I thoroughly scrubbed and washed my two doors. Then I switched the hinge nuts and bolts to stainless with acorn nuts. They look new again. The three fluid reservoir float switches (from the junkyard) work great .. and signal a LED light in the dash when fluid level is down. I gotta get a bigger drill bit to drill a hole to accommodate the battery cutoff switch. I harvested a complete cruise control circuit and servo from a junkyard Celica today. Gift from a friend who is junking his old Celica. I've already mounted a momentary up, momentary down toggle switch for Set / Resume! This will not be set in place until I switch from Carbs to EFI. BTW: I received the two stone guards for the headlights .. they look great! I think that they mount inside the headlight ring .. but still have to investigate that. Rob Mitchell
  18. You got to be kidding! Rob
  19. I will bring my KAR120C license plate from my other car. Also spare 7 grill which is a miscut from the UK. Rotus brochure and magazine article featuring my Rotus! Lotus Seven and the Independents Book. Some info about KAR120C Three CDs of music from The Prisoner TV show. Spare gas can Fire Extinguisher Tools. Rob Mitchell
  20. Oh my gosh .. I'm glad you are still walking and talking after an eventful week! There's a certain amount of misery that I can tolerate .. working 24 hour shifts .. I think you have topped out! Sleep well! I have yanked diffs in the junkyard twice .. and installed in the parking lot of the junkyard once! Not my favorite thing to do on a sunny Sunday off. (I like magnetic drain plugs too!) Rob
  21. Got the new turn signal switch mounted and wired in appropriately. And the light at the tip of the lever flashes too! (Two Diodes wired in parallel keep the signal from bleeding to the other side.) Got the Muth Mirror Multifunction Signal circuit box mounted and wired in for all functions. The pushbutton is now an antitailgate brake switch. Horn and High Beam relays work great! Still need to wire in the three fluid reservoir float switches. Still need to wire in the battery cutoff switch. As I go I'm replacing all nuts and bolts with stainless steel ones. Rob Mitchell
  22. My first bracket put the switch housing out too far which interfered with the Grant Security lock mechanism! So I went back to ACE hardware and bought another bracket and modified it to not interfere .. Got the switch bolted securely in place .. and wired up the left function turn signal .. as well as the two diodes for the light at the end of the lever. Also began wiring in the Muth mirror Multifunction Circuit .. tried it out before dinner .. and the light at the end of the lever blinks! 23. Car looks great! Great deal! Rob
