  1. See Rotus Buildup Article part 3. Pics 12, 13, 14, 15. Scroll about 2/3 down. Rob
  2. Nice article on pages 75- and great pics on page 4 and page 100 too! Any way to dump those pics to make a screen background? Rob
  3. Yeah .. Blood Pressure should only be checked when relaxed. High blood pressure can be determined when checked on three different days. Rob
  4. That's something I may have to try someday. BTW: That's a cutaway of a Panoz in the background. AMS: Track has 24 degree banks .. and 5 degree straightaways. Day 2 of the "school" was uneventful. They were still to busy to get me on the track. So I'm finished with my commitment to the "Hot Laps Marboro" racing experience. Rob
  5. Me too and added a comment! :hurray: rob aka ... solder_guy
  6. Robert: On my Rotus .. I removed the 2 uprights supporting the windshield. They are held in place with two horizontal nuts each. Then I unbolted the vertical nut which holds the triangular bracket (one on each side). Underneath each nut are three washers .. one of which was a pain to get it off the bolt. These two bolts stayed on the frame. Then the scuttle was loose. No need to pop rivots. I also had to release a choke cable .. and unbolt the windshield motor and unplug the electrical connections. My Wiring: I am not pleased with the plastic toggle switches .. so I have replaced them with metal toggle switches. I found a nice switch which is momentary one way, locks the other way and center off. I will use it for my high beams. I also got a turn signal switch with lever in the mail yesterday. I need to fabricate a bracket to hold it in place beside the "free" steering spindle. Rob
  7. Well they were much to busy with clients to give me a ride today .. maybe tomorrow. I got to see them drifting some Mustangs and burning off the rubber completely off $800 tires. Here's a pic of me in a recent Formula 1 winner (from 6-7 years ago). I'm told that the steering wheel costs $12k. Rob http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/537628327_formula.jpg
  8. I'm going to driving school ... and getting paid to go!! :hurray: I will be working as the physician to screen drivers for health issues before enrolling in the "Hot Laps" Marboro driving experience for the next two days. Being an employee I only get to see what others are doing .. riding in a Panoz race car at 150 mph around the Atlanta Motor Speedway and see some Mustangs burn rubber while drifting on a skid track. I just wish that my Rotus was rtr .. but I'm still rewiring the dash among other things. I know that John Bowman has driven his Rotus around the AMS before! :hurray: Rob
  9. Last year I found a top of the line Marantz 2275 receiver (1975 era solid state) sitting on a park bench in front of a thrift store! Grabbed it so fast! It still needs some work .. if I can find the time but cosmetically it looks perfect! Nothing better than Copeland's Appalachian Spring, etc. Rob
  10. Hello: What's up with the points? Rob
  11. A hidden compartment. I like it! Rob Mitchell
  12. All Top Gears have been removed from You Tube! OTOH: BBC's Top Gear in US deal talks .. Hit TV show Top Gear could be heading to the US, after the BBC revealed it is in talks to take it over the Atlantic. Rob
  13. Tires and proportions look good. Are you glad you got the bigger Rotus than the smaller Caterham? Rob M.
  14. Looks good. Are you going to get a new roll bar too? You should retitle the topic here to : New Dash. New Skin. Rob M
  15. That's how I got hooked. Actually that's your line .. I stole it! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/leaving.gif Welcome Tony .. Great story about sharing the experience with your father. Rob Mitchell solder_guy2007-04-13 11:48:12
  16. Go Gixxerkart Go! It's what James Bond would drive in a pinch! Rob M.
  17. All you have to do is sit in one .. touch the ground and you might be in love! Rob
  18. I got ambitious .. and today I removed the windshield .. and unbolted and removed the scuttle. The car looks surprisingly slick and basic without these parts. Finally I can look at the dash wiring and plan on making some changes. First things first though .. I easily wired in the Hella Supertones relay so that I finally have the horn function working on my new Grant wheel through the vehicle security system. I had to test it out a few times .. hope I didn't disturb the neighbors too much! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/reddevil.gifhttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrinjester.gif Now I need to drill a new instrument hole for the VDO fuel gauge. Thanks to Dennis Hedges for leaving some wires for the gauge sender. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/yesnod.gif And finally I can begin wiring in the control box for the Muth Signal Mirrors. Still need to figure out a system for a turn signal switch and lever. Rob
  19. Fantastic! The rollcage gives the feel of riding with you! Rob
  20. Welcome! If you want him to do something .. Send a template to him to confirm size. Here's my seven grill on my car. Rob http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20070404_035934_rotus7.jpg
  21. Contact Martin at .. MartinPTownsend@AOL.com Tell him how you heard of him. Rob
  22. Free .. Grant Installation Kit for Ford cars & trucks (late '60s through 1991). Grant Item 3249. Used but in great working shape. It has two contact circles for horn wires and pins. This allows for a Grant Steering Wheel to be used with your Ford steering spindle. Note this is not compatible and should not be used with airbag systems. First to claim gets it. IT HAS BEEN CLAIMED! Rob Mitchell
  23. Replaced a rubber cover (acquired at the junkyard) over the bare brake pedal. I boiled the cover in water in a pot for a few minutes to soften it up and then easily installed it. I'm replacing the points dizzy with magnetic dizzy and electronic ignition today. Should run better. Rob
