So You Think You Want to Buy One of the New Ford GTs?
FourFather replied to scannon's topic in Off Topic
Here is my 2006 Ford GT Heritage next to my 2019 New Ford GT in liquid Red, no stripe, silver wheels. I have taken a deposit on the Heritage and the buyer requested taking it in the sun for photos. As a thank you for the Heritage purchase, I'm giving him right of first refusal to buy the 2019 if, and when, I should offer it for sale. I never thought this country boy hot rodder would ever have even one of a car like this, let alone two. Here is a short commercial about our primary sponsor- The Good Lord has blessed us SO abundantly. The Bible tells us - Delight yourself in the Lord and he will grant you the desires of your heart. So very true in our case. Cheers, Eddie -

Speaking of color- This changes more with different lighting, than anything else I've ever had. I love it. Cheers, Eddie -
Update on my Pro Formula Mazda open wheel road racer. Over the winter I installed a turbocharger on the Mazda Renesis rotary engine, and converted it to 100% methanol fuel, and indications are that I gained about 135 or so horsepower from stock - about 400 now at the flywheel, measured 334 HP at the tires. Stock weight was 1070, and it is a bit heavier now, and I have to carry more than twice as much fuel. It now uses about a gallon and a quarter PER LAP! But I was fastest overall at the last race, #1 qualifier and won the open wheel final. I had a 1:16.2 in the final! Tickeled me to tears! Thanks for listening and looking, guys! Cheers, Eddie

Well, it is nearly three years later, but wife Ercie and I have been blessed with the delivery of my new 2019 Ford GT. I'm gonna be 83 years old in less than two weeks, and I had to sell almost all of my lifetime collection of what I have always considered really cool toys. Sold all of my Ariel Atoms (sold twenty nine of them altogether before I retired as a dealer for them), sold both my 540 inch big block Chevy-powered boats, and also sold my beloved Ultima CanAm roadster. But I'm very happy and grateful for the new Ford. Thanks for all the friendliness and conversation I have enjoyed here at this forum to date, and I'm not leaving- just don't check in here all that often. Also big thanks for allowing me to run ads for my sales. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=15055&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=15054&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=15056&stc=1 They brought it direct from MultiMatic in Canada, where they are built, to my driveway- that is my race car shop with living quarters attached, just below the middle of the Ford as it comes out of the transporter. There is a lot of lightweighting. Carbon fiber tub, doors, all body panels. And lots of aero management. God is good! Thanks for looking- Eddie -
Well, we do have our weather. And winter is not going down without a struggle! Come on when you can-- Eddie

Today is the thirtieth anniversary of my, and the world's, first four second quarter mile run. We ran 4.990 at 288.55 mph on 4/9/1988, the day that seemed to demand it. Quite a change from what things were like thirty years before that, in 1958, like this picture with me in the lower right of the picture, with the Cushman motorscooter front wheels, Pontiac v-eight engine. 1958 http://imgtree.net/files/dhknm77z3nf8kfw5cxp2.jpg 1988 First in the Fours--Hence my handle FourFather http://imgtree.net/files/l4xi0nwjp83sx6hsu1av.jpg 2018 Now after a lifetime of going straight, I'm trying to learn to turn corners. http://imgtree.net/files/0ddfa3iqo7ytgmipf2j7.jpg Cheers, Eddie

What a blessing and thrill it is to have a 300HP car with a redline over 8,500 rpm with a close ratio six-speed, very low center of gravity, wide sticky tires and wings front and rear, and that weighs only ~1350 pounds. And with late model Honda reliability of the engine and transaxle, extremely low operating costs, and excellent resale value. http://imgtree.net/files/emceew5afjpm21h16ivw.jpg Life is good! UPGRADES THAT I HAVE ADDED · Wheels/tires on car now are Keizer ultra lightweight three-piece rebuildable. Fronts are 10” wide x 15” with Hoosier 23.0 x 9.5 R15 radials with the softest compound, the R25B. These are scuffed in and have about 90% tread left. · Rear wheels are 14” wide x 15” with Hoosier 23.5 x 13.0 R15 with the softest R25B compound. There is about 85% tread remaining. Nothing that I have tried over the last ten years on these cars works any better than this set of wheels and tires! · Jet Hot ceramic bright coated exhaust system with custom built muffler eliminator. The muffler eliminator is a wide open unmuffled pipe that increases horsepower and makes the car “sound like a supercar should”, to quote my wife. It easier to hear when to shift gears, in addition to looking much better than the stock muffler. It also makes it easier to see the pretty parts of the rear of the engine, that the original muffler blocks from view. Jet Hot coating looks much better and DOES NOT RUST or discolor like the originals do. · Custom rear wing mounts to move the rear wing up into clean air and rearward for more effective down force (somewhat like my other car that runs 0 to 323.74 mph in 4.520 seconds). · The throttle pedal is repositioned for easier and better heel-and-toeing. This modification is easily reversible by removing one screw and replacing it in the original position. · I built and installed a nice dead pedal to keep my left foot on, when not shifting or braking. · I prefer Wilwood brakes, and I added Hawk blue brake pads. They have proven the best for me for the street and especially on track. In ten years of racing with the Wilwoods, I have never had to replace a brake rotor or even have one re-machined. · I built and installed a shifter lockout device that can be engaged or disengaged while strapped in the car with gloves on. It prevents accidentally shifting into first or second gear while hurrying to downshift for a corner on the track or street. If you’ve ever accidentally downshifted to second when you were looking for fourth, you will really appreciate this item. · Beautiful indoor car cover, best looking car cover I have ever had or seen. · One of a kind custom built belly pan, full width and length, made of aluminum/composite/aluminum sandwich, which is very stiff and very light. I have flexible brush side air seals (ala F1 technology) and built a one of a kind aluminum diffuser patterned after the new Ford GT, which I used as my inspiration. The diffuser and belly pan are easily removable. To facilitate oil changes, I have a -6 AN stainless steel jacketed flexible hose plumbed into the engine oil pan drain so the oil can be drained by simply laying the end of the hose in a drain pan and removing the plug. Don’t have to remove the diffuser or belly pan. SPARES OR EXTRA PARTS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE SALE PRICE Team Dynamics street/track wheels and tires, factory equipped new car take-offs, Team Dynamics aluminum 12-spoke wheels in satin black. Rears carry Toyo Proxes R888 245/40ZR17, which is the largest tire, most traction ever offered by the factory. The fronts carry Toyo Proxes R888 205/50ZR15. The mold mark in the center of the front tires is still there, all the way around both tires. The rear tires are partially scuffed in, but no measurable wear. A set of two rear tires for these Team Dynamics 17” rear wheels. These are very lightly scuffed in Hoosier Autocross tires, P245/40ZR17, with the center mold mark on the tires still visible all the way around both tires, about 99% of tread left. Keizer Black Racing Wheels with highlights, Atom 3 wheel bolt pattern. Full set of four Keizer three piece racing wheels in all black with CNC‘d highlights, with tires mounted and balanced. Rear wheels are 10” wide x 15” and have new Hoosier FA (Formula Atlantic) tires size 23.0x9.5R15 , and front wheels are 8” wide x 15” with Hoosier autocross tires Size P225/45ZR15 that I have used some, but these have lots of laps left in them. This combo is as fast as anything I’ve tried. New Hawk blue racing brake pads in original boxes - enough to do the whole car. New Hawk black street brake pads in original box. Compartmentalized spares box with large and small heim (spherical ball) joints and lots of other items, see photos GoPro camera 2’ x 4’ Ariel Atom banner for garage wall EXTRA PARTS THAT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE PRICE, BUT CAN BE ADDED AT BARGAIN PRICES IF BOUGHT WITH CAR - SUBJECT TO PRIOR SALE WHEELS AND TIRES Set of four polished Keizer three-piece racing wheels. Front wheels are 8” wide x 15” with Hoosier A7autocross tires size P225/45ZR15 that are scuffed in but very little wear. Rear wheels are 10” wide x 15” and have very good used Hoosier FA tires size 23.0x9.5R15 in the R25b compound. I have not tried anything that works better than this combo. And I have tried a boat load of combinations. Twobrand new Hoosier 23.0 x 9.5 R15 FA race tires in R25B compound, or FA compound, still in shipping boxes. I earned my career best lap times with this setup. And, lastly, why buy from me? Well, for one thing, I’ve owned/operated my business www.eddiehillsfuncycles.com at the same location in Wichita Falls, Texas, for over half a century, currently 51 years and counting, with A+ , their highest rating, at the Better Business Bureau. I’ve sold twenty eight Ariel Atoms so far. I have been blessed with being the only person so far to have been the quickest and fastest drag racer on land and water, and to have won the yearly championships in the fastest class, top fuel, on both land and water. With engines and vehicles that I set up and tuned. And I set up and sorted and raced this Atom for my own fun, and it has been great. (My new to me Pro Formula Mazda is a little faster, but it sure takes a lot more time and effort and preparation to race it!) Thanks for looking, Cheers, Eddie Google “Eddie FourFather Hill” for my credentials, if you are interested- -
FOR SALE - Eddie FourFather Hill’s personal 2012 Ariel Atom 3 Roadster SOLD! THANK YOU, THOMAS! CHEERS, EDDIE Priced at 78,980.00 Set up for serious track day or race use. In fact, this may very well be the most developed/track sorted Ariel Atom available, and I have data printouts and video to show what it actually does. http://imgtree.net/files/lwgvhczf2gbf0bv93pqy.jpg http://imgtree.net/files/8eqd78mosdvx61nggqsy.jpg http://imgtree.net/files/dfd7qatonemqlsj27q82.jpg See these YouTube videos - This is me running my two-seat 2012 Ariel Atom 3 300HP demonstrator/company car, against single-seat race cars. At Hallett Motor Raceway, near Tulsa, Oklahoma. And here I start on the front row of the Open Wheel final at Hallett, after qualifying #2 out of all the open wheel cars at the track. Eleven second video -Youngster's reaction to first ride, with me, in Ariel Atom Interview with Eddie and Ercie Hill, done at Hallett Motor Raceway http://bangshift.com/bangshiftapex/ever-wonder-what-happened-to-eddie-hill-at-78-years-old-hes-still-racing/ This is the very high-rpm Honda powered version, the supercharged K20a, from Civic Type R, the “Holy Grail” of all the Hondas, which I prefer over all of the other Ariels I have ever driven or sold. Which is why I kept this one until I had sold all my newer and older ones. I ordered this one to be my own personal ideal Ariel Atom company car/track day car, and as a demonstrator for my Ariel Atom dealership. I have been racing the various Atom models for 10 years, and since becoming an Ariel dealer have sold twenty-eight of them. So why sell the “Ideal Atom”? Last year my sweet bride Ercie bought a Mercedes SL550 twin turbo V-eight roadster for me for the street, and a Pro Formula Mazda for the track. With these exotic toys to play with, I plan to spend more time playing and less time working/selling. And so I will no longer be racing or selling the Ariels, and have now sold all my new and used Atoms except this one. · In my ten years of driving, racing, demonstrating, and selling all the different models of the Ariel Atoms, the supercharged K20a, the “Holy Grail” of all the Honda engines, has been the most fun, sounds the best, turns the most RPM (by over 1,000), requires fewer shifts per lap, ( I LOVE shifting at 8,500, 8,600, or 8,700 RPM) and it is noticeably faster on the two race tracks I run on, by 2 seconds per lap on the shorter track, Hallett in Oklahoma, and 5 seconds per lap on a longer track, Eagles Canyon at Decatur, Texas. This is not advertising hype, I have actual data printouts. · This car is Serial #AA30012, and now has 5137 miles on it. Other than the test miles put on it at the factory, I am the only person who has ever driven it. All the demonstrations I have done with the car were demo “rides”, not “drives”. It is in excellent shape and is completely ready for the track. As you can see in the videos of me driving it at Hallett Motor Raceway and pulling away from several different classes of single-seat race cars, this Atom is actually faster than most of the pure race cars there. This car has the following factory equipment: Stage 2 300HP Performance Tune Honda K20a engine from Civic Type R, with Jackson Racing supercharger, rev limiter at about 8,700 RPM. Slick-shifting Honda close ratio six-speed , the best shifting manual transmission I have ever driven. Carbon fiber wings, front and rear. These are beautiful - actually nicer looking than the ones on my top fuel dragster. Very adjustable Bilstein aluminum dampers/shocks Sale includes a full set of red “tender” or “soft” suspension springs for the very adjustable Bilstein aluminum dampers. I removed these tender springs to limit ground clearance changes with this latest ground effects aero package I have on the car now. If this car is ever to be used on the street, the tender red springs can be reinstalled for a softer street ride. The red soft springs are short travel and are used in addition to the long heavy springs, not instead of them. The short soft springs give a soft, comfortable, supple ride with enough travel to handle most any condition you’re apt to run into on the street, but they coil bind soon enough to really limit dive on braking, squat on acceleration, or leaning in corners. This is the best of both worlds for the street, but they are not needed on a smooth race track. Aluminum radiator Wilwood Dynalite Sport Brake Package - tremendous stopping power (see Gee printout of braking) with zero fade, easy to modulate, long life, and easy and economical to replace pads. In ten years I have never had to replace , or even re-machine, a brake rotor! The car has a brake bias adjuster knob on the dash, so you can easily change braking force from front to rear while racing just by turning the knob a click or two. If the fronts lock up too easily (easy to see with an Atom), just turn the knob a couple of clicks to the left, shown by arrows on the knob. The car has a main battery disconnect switch with removable red handle so you can kill all electrical power to the car, remove the red handle, and put it in your pocket if you leave the car unattended. Excellent theft deterrent. This feature is required by some racing organizations so a safety worker can easily spot the red handle and kill all electrical circuits (fuel pump, ignition, etc.). · The car has a removable steering wheel. This is a really cool item because when you stop at a Dairy Queen and walk in with your steering wheel in one hand and your helmet in the other, everyone looks at you like you are a rock star. Excellent theft deterrent, too. When I was new to the car, I thought removing the wheel made it easier to get in and out of the car. Passenger footrest. With the fantastic Gees this car generates, your passenger will LOVE this item, especially under braking on track! One piece fiberglass bucket seat - This is lighter and it positions driver and passenger noticeably lower in the car than the older separate seats - a good thing. The older individually adjustable seats had to sit enough higher in the car to allow room for the sliders and adjusters that had to fit between the seat bottoms and the floor. Fenders, fiberglass. These are easy enough to remove or replace, and they will fit with the street wheel and tire package that comes with the car sale. 12 volt power source - back in the day we called these cigarette/cigar lighters - a receptacle that can be used to plug in a data recorder or whatever that runs on 12 volts. 3 inch 6-point harness that holds you very securely, even at two Gee. Anti-submarine belt, no sliding forward in the car under heavy braking with this option. Seat belt pads - With the Gee this car generates, you need these for serious track use, otherwise your shoulders will probably be sore, if you use all of this car’s cornering ability. Aero screens - these are the tiny Lexan wind deflectors on the cowl in front of the driver and passenger. I know these are tiny, but they are huge compared to what is on my Pro Formula Mazda, and they actually work a lot better than what you’d think. The bugs wind up on these, instead of on your face shield. This is the way the Atom sits today- http://imgtree.net/files/peg91fy82dbss5ijp5ly.jpg Thanks for looking, Cheers, Eddie Google “Eddie FourFather Hill” for my credentials, if you are interested-

Thanks, Kitcat. I was actually born on March 6, 1936, the exact 100th anniversary of the battle of the Alamo- The Alamo was March 6, 1836. BabyCakes feeds me healthy food and makes sure I take my vitamins. My new ride is a Pro Formula Mazda. 1070 pounds, with a Mazda Renesis rotary (like out of an RX-8) with 265hp at 8,100 rpm. Six-speed sequential with NO-LIFT- NO CLUTCH UPSHIFT ! Yee-ha! Driver blip no clutch downshift, like you can see on this printout. One minute and 18 seconds already, at Hallett. Big Fun. 2017 Ariel Atom 3 Turbo - Carbon Fiber Edition - FOR SALE
FourFather replied to FourFather's topic in Cars For Sale
Here are some answers to questions I have received about my Turbo for sale that might be helpful to anyone considering whether to buy mine for sale here, or order a new Atom 3S. The oil pressure lettering on the Dash 2 is like the oil pressure lettering on a normal oil pressure gage, in that the lettering is always there. But the oil pressure indicator display on the dash 2, is right under the lettering, and it displays either a zero indicating low or no oil pressure, or a 1 if pressure is normal, as opposed to a gage that displays actual pressure units. Like an idiot light, except it shows 0 or 1, instead of a red light coming on or going off. My Turbo does not have the traction control feature, mainly because I ordered this car for me, intending to keep it forever, instead of ordering it for immediate resale, and my preference is no electronic nannies. However, it is my understanding that that can be added if desired. The 3S has mandatory Alcon brakes with parking brake, and mine has my preference, the Wilwoods, which seem to me to be easier to modulate, especially so to avoid lockup under extreme braking on track. And my original Atom II, with Wilwoods and over 8,000 miles of mostly track use, still has the original brake discs, and they have never been resurfaced, and still don’t need to be. There is plenty of braking power to lock the wheels at any speed, but easy to avoid locking. The Hawk blue brake pads, already installed on this car, work great on the street, and even better on track. The Hawk pads for the Wilwoods are about $250 to do the whole car. The original factory equipped pads are included with the sale and they are essentially unused. So with my Turbo you get track pads already installed, but not standard on 3S, but available for $458 extra. I fabricated a first and second gear lockout for the shifter, for use on track to prevent accidentally selecting second gear when trying to select fourth in a hurry downshifting on corner entry. The accidental selection at speed of second instead of fourth gear happened to me twice, and spun me off track both times. And an Atom buyer client of mine in Houston did his once and destroyed the clutch, requiring him to bring it back to me for clutch replacement, which requires engine/transaxle removal from the car. My lockout is basically fool proof, and easily engaged or disengaged, one-handed, while strapped in the car. It is included in my sale, but not included or available with the 3S. My Turbo does not have the seat cover, again a personal choice, but easy add-on. My Turbo has six-point belts/harness, not included with the 3S, but available for $328. Mine are RED, by special request. The 3S will have the muffler only, and the system will not be Jet-Hot coated, as mine is, and my stainless steel and Jet-Hot coated muffler eliminator not only increases power slightly, but lets the car sound “like a supercar should”, in my wife’s words. The exhaust sound gives me an aural indicator of shift points, whereas the stock muffler did not. This mod is completely and quickly reversible, and the muffler is included in the sale. My Turbo has some of the aluminum in the engine compartment polished a bit, that is not done on the stock 3S. I wish now that I had taken a picture of the stock 3S rear view before I prettied it up, but I did not. I am including the Hondata FlashPro tuning and datalogging equipment, which is what the factory uses to do the original tune. This allows unlimited tuning and datalogging, and is not included with the 3S. My Turbo has both the windshield AND the small individual aero screens, with the nose/bonnet/hood to fit each configuration. The 3S has windshield only. If you want to remove the windshield to protect it from damage when you run the car on track, the parts are included with mine to do the easy change over. Mine does not have the removable steering wheel, simply because I quit using that feature on my first Atom, after the novelty wore off. I thought at first that taking the wheel off made getting in and out of the car easier, but after I became used to the car, I find it is easier to actually use the wheel as a hand hold/knee brace to help get in and out. But that can be added if desired. Mine has the Carbon Fiber wing package, about $6,000, that is not included in the 3S. My Turbo has the Carbon Fiber bonnet/hood/ nose piece that is not included on the 3S, option for $985 extra My Turbo has an extra carbon fiber bonnet/hood/ nose piece, to fit the extra cowl that comes with the two little tiny windscreens that are referred to as Aero screens, neither of which are included in the 3S. About $1,400 extra to get them. My Turbo has the carbon fiber Airbox cover/Snorkel that is not included in the 3S, but available for $1,785 extra. My Turbo has the Carbon Fiber instrument surround, not included on the 3S, but available for $485 extra. My Turbo has larger 17” rear wheels with the largest tires ever offered from the factory, the stock 3S comes with 16” rears. My wheel/tire package was an extra $650 for wheels and an extra $477 for the Toyo R888 rear tires. My Turbo has the clear Lexan side panels, not included in the 3S, but available for $400 extra. My Turbo does not have the roll hoop, again by choice, and I have never used one on any of my Atoms, but it is available and an easy bolt-on or off. Hope all this info may be of some help. Thanks for looking, Eddie FourFather Hill :flag:
