  1. That is open for us. Thanks.
  2. Our current club president is Rod and his e-mail address is wrod1845@wowway.com FYI: We are going to be at Watkins Glen that weekend for the Vintage GP. If that date is solid we will not be able to make it. Which reminds me, Jen had already penned in our Saturday plans with another cookout (no boats involved though). Sorry, I should have responded sooner.
  3. Relax, you are just that good a mechanic. Few of us will ever get there (typing with busted knuckles).
  4. Big surprise, we are so in. I drive Jen to drinking regularly so why not specificaly this day too?
  5. Yes and no. Yes, she is going but no to the hardcore runner part. She is only doing the 5K with some friends from the area.
  6. Yup, I will be there solo though. Jen is heading to Cincinatti for one of those charity runs.
  7. For the sake of following up: I have recieved permission from both www.killboy.com and www.zeefoto.com to use the pictures with the inclusion of proper credit. Thank you both.
  8. Here are a couple shots that I took and therefore have granted myself permission to do whatever I want with them. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1773969102_Autumn 2008 Caterham pics. 013.jpg http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1356500574_Autumn 2008 Caterham pics. 023.jpg
  9. I will be contacting both Killboy.com and Zeefoto.com requesting permission and post back when (and if) I get proper approval.
  10. MoPho, I read the information that came with the photos and you are absolutely correct. It allows for any personal use but requests credit when used in commercial work. I only quickly read it originally and assumed they were mine to do with as I pleased, so I learned something new today. Therefore proper credit for the top photo (on road) belongs to Powerhead Productions at www.killboy.com and the bottom photo(odd angle shot) is credited to www.zeefoto.com. Thanks for the information, I wouldn't want to unknowingly screw them over on proper credit.
  11. Here are a couple photos from the 07-07-07 weekend (we do own the rights, we bought em' fair and square). http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1214083996_7-7-07 killboy photos 002.jpg http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1798743238_7-7-07 ZeeFoto photos 007.jpg
  12. The assembly manual does show to mount the mirrors on the doors. The doors are built with 2 holes in the framework (under the door skin). Not only are they worthless when the doors are off (they aren't there!) but it complicates storage in the already tight boot.
  13. The 3 cars that this MevLtd. company builds are all rear engine too but the look leans on a sevenesque style too(at least the Sonic 7). I guess the difference is whether or not you are evaluating it as only a casual observer or from a more in-depth perspective such as us.
  14. How about this one? http://www.mevltd.co.uk/gallerysonic.html
  15. I'm sorry I missed it. It looks like much more fun than exhaust and brake work on the winter car. Maybe we will need to run the route on one of those mega-snowfall days so you can exercise your Subaru.
  16. I liked the earlier version of the Clubman better. They are pretty heavy but visually pleasing. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/235650048_Elfin-Clubman_MS8_2004_thumbnail_01.jpg http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1292832741_Elfin-Clubman_MS8_2004_thumbnail_02.jpg http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1326705426_Elfin-Clubman_MS8_2004_thumbnail_06.jpg http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/813231366_Elfin-Clubman_MS8_2004_thumbnail_09.jpg
  17. 99% crash protection for me. I would bet that it effectively doubles the amount of energy that can be absorbed before it reaches the passenger area (there is not much car back there). I have been dragging it behind me for 43 odd thousand miles and have never needed it and would bet that I never will, but, I could see it possibly used as a Suburban-cushion one day.
  18. We know why you didn't show up Gary, those weather gods were not in a good mood Saturday. We timed the driving portion to coincide with the worst of the rain juuuuuust perfectly. We had a great time just the same, actually, it was fun in its own way because of it. In all, eight of us got together for a day of soggy fun. Thanks to everyone who came, a soaking wet day on the road with them beats a dry day at home anytime.
  19. Upgrade season is right. Robert, you have a pretty good list going right now don't ya? My list is much more limited in comparison (I want some new wheels and tires which are quite a bit easier to install but no less painfull to the wallet).
  20. I have a Halguard Halon extinguisher mounted under the scuttle, it required a fabricated bracket to turn the fuse block 90 degrees (drawing available if you request). The only other modification is a slight roll to the triangular Lamiplate piece that covers the lower windscreen stanchion bolts (this gives the nozzle a bit more room for quick removal). http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1664351927_Fire extinguisher.jpg It fits nicely and doesn't cause any isssues with ingress or egress and is still "right there" should it be needed. Summit carries it, here is a link: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=HTR%2DHG100R&N=700+115&autoview=sku
  21. You are no more high-and -dry than you would be if you had a problem with your BMW or similar foreign car, Rocky Mountain should be able to square you away with just a simple phone call. They have been excellent with all of my "need it now" issues.
  22. I agree, cold. Doors on with the roof off was the method for the morning. Oh yeah, and the heater is worth those extra few pounds when the temps get down in the low 50's and below. It's still cozy warm (for your feet at least) when the temps are down in the 30's just before they start flinging the salt up here in Ohio. We may be experiencing that sooner than usual this year by the looks of it.:nopity:
  23. The meeting spot is in Beachwood, OH and will be heading NE to the Madison area via some picturesque back roads. If you are up for this simply respond below, thanks. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/432604726_wine.jpg
  24. "I didn't know you had had a crash in 2005...what car? Street or road? Good to see you are even trying the karting again...I've thought about doing one of those Endurance Karting arrive and drive weekends. Maybe once my oldest is tall enough to do the family camp." I had my "big one" after 12 years of karting. It happened at BeaveRun when the guy behind me forgot to use his brakes, climbed me and knocked me out temporarily (the same guy took out the flagman two weeks earlier!). I came to in time to avoid the wall and got back into the race. Unfortunately, the guy severed my brake line which I didn't figure out until I got to the next braking zone at about 60mph. I ended up crashing into the catch fencing and caught my left leg in it. My knee came up to smack me in the helmet and my leg folded back behind me. Ouch is the word. I ended up ripping out three of the four ligaments in my knee. While the injury wasn't life threatening, it certainly caused some lifestyle changes. After two months on crutches and a wheelchair for work while two of the ligaments regenerated, it was time for the ACL surgery and some more recovery time with the crutches and wheeelchair. By the time I began rehabilitation, the leg had atrophied to the point that I didn't recognize it (no muscle mass at all). It was just over a year before I got to the point that I was not concious of the situation. I did get back into the kart for about 4 laps in the fall of 2005 just to "get back on the horse" but I couldn't keep my leg up from the cornering forces. After this, I have really reevaluated the risk/reward ratio of karting but now that I see just how much I have lost in skill I see that I must get back into it (otherwise I should just go buy a Camry). If I cannot drive a particular car to it's limits I really don't need to be driving it.
  25. Al, Well, it wasn't my first trackday but boy did it feel like it! Since my banger in 2005 I have lost alot in terms of driving ability. I used to be able to drive at the cars limits and at Putnam I am markedly below that level (my point-by arm got plenty of use). On the positive side though, based on this, I am now preparing for my first kart race (since my crash) in two weeks. I know that I am not naturally a great driver and I need to be constantly behind the wheel in order to maintain a proper level. It is partially depressing to learn that you have "lost it" but as long as I have a plan to get "it" back I will keep a smile on my face.
