Red Duck
Can anyone tell me what the equivalent of a UFI 2311800 oil filter is for a CSR260? Just doing the first oil change and would rather not have to wait for Caterham to ship from the UK

jlumba81
Gasket looks like it fits are the threads the same?
jlumba81
Looks like Croc had the same issue. Found a thread about it. "For the next US-based sucker who asks this question, WIX oil filter part number 51335 can be found at Rock Auto in Atlanta GA."
Red Duck
I looked online at the WIX 51335 and it has Outer Diameter: 3.67inches. Now that I look online with Napa, thats the exact same with their Napa 1335. The UFI 23 11800 has an outside diameter of 78mm which in real money is 3inches. The problem with the Napa 1335 I purchased is that whilst the thread/gasket fits, the space is so tight you cannot get the outside diameter in the space. Other than getting Rock Auto or Caterham to ship from the UK, and waiting for that long, does anyone know of an equivalent filter that has an outside diameter of 3 inches? seschm1234
I ordered mine from Beachman racing and he shipped them quickly. Croc
Steve - I recommend ordering the filters through Bruce at Beachman Racing. I since learned after that earlier post that my oil filter thread is not standard CSR260 as my engine did not come through regular Caterham Cosworth channels since it was a special order :banghead: Took me a while to get the right filter too! Hope you are having fun with the CSR? Edited October 14, 2014 by Croc
Red Duck
Thanks everyone, I decided to order the 'OEM' UFI ones. The CSR is going great but I'm not getting out much, to say the least. 300 miles in 2 years will cause eye rolling on this forum for sure. I am thinking to move the car to my place near Atlanta and join the Atlanta Motorsports Park. It's billed as Monticello for 'normal' people. I will go and check it out shortly. Croc
Just as NJMP Drivers Club has called itself Monticello for normal people! I think that makes it clear what Monticello is like with its Wall Street jockeys who steer with their ego. If you can work out how to get your CSR down to NJMP we can set you up on a Drivers Club day(s) as a guest since you missed the July event. BruceBe
The UFI filters have a high bypass pressure, making them very compatible with the somewhat fearsome oil pressures you'll find on the higher spec engines, especially when cold. -Bruce
