Middle ground between a Vette and 7?

I sold my 80% complete LS1/T-56 swapped C4 (84) Corvette stripped down race car to buy my Stalker ("Storker").

 

Ultimately, I was confident I could not get the Vette as light or as simple as I wanted. So, I went with the Seven.

 

But, what if there was middle ground?

Obviously, some attention to ride height and alignment are in order...

I'm a big fan of the concept. I wasn't involved in the 325i in the article below, but I was in the team when we did the two preceding 5-series skeletons. It is amazing how fast 540 will go with 275's, race pads, and this kind of diet.

 

Simplify and add lightness .

I think you might be onto something with the Vette Kart. Like he said, "science up" the suspension to get it lowered and working properly and thaty thing would be a hoot.
