A number of years ago I worked with another engineer that was on an expedition to recover a P-38. http://p38assn.org/glaciergirl/recovery.htm They didn't fly it out. It was buried under many feet of ice. WestTexasS2K Posted March 5, 2015 Share Posted March 5, 2015 I was working in Thule Greenland when the Key Bird rescue was being attempted. I heard people talking about it at around the base, but I never meet any of the crew working on it. They would ferry parts from the base to the crash site.
