MichaelD Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 that is a beautiful little car and it's only about 200 lbs more that my Seven.
super7guy Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 If Ricks S7 is the one that I have seen, there is not much "real" super 7 remaining. Most vintage racers in the USA are far from stock or as delivered. Wayne SB1497
toedrag Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Thx, for posting this. I really enjoyed it.
SevenAmerica Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Yes, cool but I agree there's rather more to that Seven now than there was on the photos of it on the docks... Great period photos those!
Nick OTeen Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 If Ricks S7 is the one that I have seen, there is not much "real" super 7 remaining. Most vintage racers in the USA are far from stock or as delivered. Wayne SB1497 Rick Benewitz was a longtime friend of mine and I know his 7 (now owned by my friend Jim Hall) quite well. While Rick did some upgrades over the years such as adding a dry sump system and upping the horsepower) it is a very original car. The "26R" in the video is a spectacular car. Jim did a fantastic job on every detail and I'm proud to say I had a hand in some of the final details of finishing the car.
Taber10 Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Great video, and I would NEVER criticize anything Jay Leno says about cars, but he does say, "....Caterham and others copied the Lotus....." during the introduction while describing the original Super Seven. I think I could word that more accurately.
Nick OTeen Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Don't worry. I chided Jay a while back for referring to Caterham having copied Lotus. He likes my Caterham and even sat in during one of my visits to the Big Dog Garage.
