rikker Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 (edited) Any body try the Harbor Freight brand drawer cabinets on wheels? Thanks Damn,no local store so $160 for a little 30 " tool cart and $100.00 to ship, think I will pass. Edited June 11, 2016 by rikker
super7guy Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Not sure about the cabinets with drawers, but my garage storage solution uses many rolling carts some of which are stacked using the 2 shelf cart on top of the 3 shelf cart. Everything is on wheels. One HF item that I have used a lot, is the cart with plastic bins on both sides. The bottom piece was sectioned to make it the same width as the carts. For me, it holds all the SAE and metric hardware; easy to find in each labelled bin. Wayne

super7guy Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 http://www.harborfreight.com/74-bin-mobile-double-sided-floor-rack-62269.html the bottom shelf is wider for stability; don't fit in with the other foot prints. The section removed was 5-6 inches. each bin is labelled for nuts, bolts and washers. Easy to find what you want. The rolling cart with 2 shelves can be bolted to the top of the 3 shelve unit which makes it a lttle less stable, so be careful on uneven surfaces. Wayne
DeanG Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 I bought a big rollaway unit from Costco. Some Sears work benches and several bakers racks from Costco do a good job of holding lots of stuff. The bakers shelves have a huge weigh rating and hold engines, transmissions...
rikker Posted June 13, 2016 Author Posted June 13, 2016 Thanks Wayne. Dean, I have to agree about Costco, when I have ordered really bulky heavy items from them they have used private freight movers, the service was always great with no delivery fee, and if you don t want it they pick it up for free. I found a bigger one by Husky at Home Depot .com, cheaper with $5.00 delivery.
inchoate Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I'm not usually a big fan of Harbor Freight stuff but I do have one of their 13 drawer roller cabinets (SKU. 68784) and one of their 9 drawer top chests (SKU. 68787). I looked at a bunch of different things before I got them and in my opinion to get something much better you'd have to spend a lot more money. I've head them for about three years now and haven't had any problems at all. Probably the only product I'd recommend from Harbor Freight. I would suggest going to a store to look at stuff before you buy it, some of their smaller tool chests are not so great.
rzempel Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I bought a HF 5 drawer tool cart to store tools in my airplane hanger. It's pretty stout, and does what I got it for. I'd watch for a free shipping deal at HF, if I didn't have a local store. Randall
coffee break Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I modified a HF cart for a TIG welding set-up.
speedwagon Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 love the welding cart-- they all really need the storage drawers and none have them. thanks, john
