Did World Class Motorsports go out of business? Buying WCM Ultralite S2k - Roll Bar?

First time posting here. Currently have a BEC but I'm looking at an Ultralite S2K so started researching and noticed WCM's website is down. Looks like the owner hasn't posted here in a few months either. Out of business you think? Was hoping to order some parts if I get this car. Mainly interested to know if they have a newer version of the roll bar.

Can anyone who knows more about roll bars/welding tell me if the new part that has been welded on to the original roll bar hold in a crash?(see sedond picture) I would think that the new piece would break right off? I'm still going to buy the car but just wondering what to do with the that. I don't race, only trackdays. Any help would be appreciated.

West Texas doesn't seem to be doing much with WCM but you can get any decent automobile racing fab shop to duplicate the later roll bar configuration. The original configuration may be even stronger than the later, just a bit more inconvenient. I think WT still has some WCM parts but don't have a clue as to if he is bothering to still sell.

Thanks for the heads up on my profile. Yeah I'm sure I will have some questions for you guys. I paid him the money but didn't want to get stuck in Atlanta traffic in 95 degree weather so decided to pick it up tonight or tomorrow. I have not even driven it but it wouldn't be the first time I've bought a car sight unseen lol.

 

Took some pictures while I was there. He spent 4k for the flames paint job. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me so I'm going to repaint it back to black. I'm also going to look into replacing the hood/nose with a more traditional Lotus 7 hood and nose if possible. My first two posts which included pictures are invisible to me(and I guess others as well). The first post I see under this threat is from Jim which was a reply to my now invisible post. Thanks for looking into it

John, were you able to figure out why some of my posts disappeared? I also replied to this threat last night and it gave me the "waiting for a moderator to approve" message. Not even sure if this one will post...
