fitting new 13'x10' 3 piece wheels, clearance issue?

i have ordered jongbloed 3 piece wheels for my 1999 caterham HPC in a 13x10". in past posts there is mention of different backspacings...4.0"...4.5"...5" all depending on wheel width. question is...with the car on a hoist and the rear dedeon suspension drooping, does the distance between the 'dedeon ear' and the inside of the wheel change dimensions? i have test fitted a bare wheel with a 5" backspace with car on hoist and suspension drooping and clearance to the ear is good. when suspension gets compressed(car on the ground) does the dedeion tube rotate in a direction that would cause the clearance to diappear. looking at pictures and manuals it appears the rotation would be linear, in other words clearance would be the same. can anyone confirm this for me?

Thats a name in wheels I have not heard of in a while - good to hear they are still around.

 

The only person with 13x10 wheels on a Caterham that I know of is Yellowss7. Ping him with a PM if he does not react in the next 24 hours.

 

Not sure why you would want that wide but I guess cold weather autocrossing?

You rang? (where is that Lurch emoji) Yes I have 10 inch wheels, as did Michael D. I have no clearance issues on the rear or front on my yellow car with the clams up front. I've tried to put them on the Orange car and rear fits fine even with the uprated rear calipers, but I can't fit them on the front due to the cycle wing stays. But I'm still working on it. I can't remember my backspacing but I thing it was either 4.5 or 5. Not home right now so I can't just go out the garage an measure.

That spec sheet is Michael Dougherty's order sheet for the Kodiak wheels. I used that when ordering my set from Kodiak as well. They fit fine. Tom

Only issue is that the stud lenght is just long enough to get the minimum number of turns on the nut to secure it. Never had any issues. Torqued to 55 lbft.
