7mroadster Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 During Hurricane Harvey this Birkin was flooded in my garage to just above the engine. I lost several other cars but firmly committed that Harvey was NOT going to take all my cars. After getting the house rebuild in order, I started on the tear down, cleaning (there was mud in everything and everwhere). Fortunately the transmission had almost no water and no mud. Flush the transmission and rearend several times, removed covers and inspected throughly. Cleaned, rewired, new instruments, ECU, headlights, seats, carpet, engine, and other items. Many thanks to Tom Carlin for his help in the effort. She is running now, but still some tuning. I did add a few things, new paint (was green and gray), true blinker indicators, phone charger outlet, carbon fiber dash, new scuttle and better seats and carpet. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14043&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14044&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14045&stc=1http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14046&stc=1
Kitcat Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Nice work! I like the headlights, they give the car an ominous Praying Mantis look. What size are your wheels? They look big!
Davemk1 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Very nice. Good job saving it from the crusher. dave
papak Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Where did you find the mounting bracket for the Brooklands screens?
7mroadster Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 They were on the car when I bought it. I believe Dick Brink supplied them to the original owner.
7mroadster Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 Thanks! The wheels are 15”. The headlights are from Harley Davidson.
Bakerson Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 That's just awesome, 7mroadster. So glad you managed to save this bad boy. It looks amazing, needless to say.
7mroadster Posted July 18, 2018 Author Posted July 18, 2018 Here is a pic with the Birkin’s garage mate, my daily (2018 MX-5 RF Club w/ Edelbrock Supercharger in Soul Red) [img]http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14337&stc=1
