Looks like KCD bought up the Sparco design, or the remaining blanks. Or maybe a knock-off? That is a LOW price!

Kitcat Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 One of the best (and cheapest) improvements that I made to my racing Cat was replacing the 9.5" (240mm, approx) steering wheel with a 13.5" (340mm, approx) wheel. Both removable via quick release. The little wheel just wore me out at the track, esp with max caster and sticky race rubber. The much bigger wheel gave me more leverage and made it less tiring and provided much better steering feel. It would probably been less of an issue on the street, with normal caster/tires.

As good as a Momo, for 1/3 the price. I like it a lot. The bad news: The bolt pattern is 180 degrees off as compared to the Momo that I currently have on the car. NVP66S Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Does it have dish symmetry? If so, turn it upside down. I'm not familiar with what's under the wheel and I would never advise anyone due to the safety aspects, but if it were my wheel, I'd drill 3 more holes to the Momo pattern. (that is if I didn't turn it upside down)

BlueBDA Posted November 18, 2018 Author Posted November 18, 2018 Searching images online I see wheels with either pattern - even Momos with either pattern. So I'm thinking there must be a way to turn the steering shaft keyway 180 degrees?
wemtd Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 My birkin (and I expect caterham) steering shaft has a splined end. You should be able to remove the hub and turn it 180* onto the spline. Be sure to make a witness mark from shaft to hub to realign it

wemtd Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 I use a gear puller and iirc a piece of flat stock with a notch for th column to grasp ontowhe avoiding scratching the hub
