What is the clearance of your Seven?

What is the clearance of your Seven? Does your Seven have any scrapes on the bottom of the chassis?

My Rotus has lost two DZUS fasteners on the bottom of the nose cone due to road scraping.

I haven't measured, but I'd guess the chassis itself is 5" or so with the sump at ~4". The muffler is the lowest point at probably 3-3.5".

Loads of scrapes on the muffler as it will drag in hard right hand turns if there are any bumps or if there are two passengers. A few bumps on the bottom of the sump pan, too; a dry sump is in my future.

I don't believe I've ever bottomed the chassis itself, but there are some dings here and there due to occasionally poor jacking choices. :o

My car has 2.75" under the sump, a little more where the exhaust pipes go under the chassis for the rear exit. The only thing I have scraped so far is the exaust pipes on hard right hand turns on the track.

I have to replace the aero-turbine muffler (something came loose inside and it rattles) and will try to get the dual pipes a little higher under the car.

I'm also thinking about cutting off the upturned ends of the pipes and having it exit straight back. I had a friend drive the car while I listened and the exhaust is much quieter outside the car which I attribute to the upward angle of the exits.

The front of my car is 5.00" from the bottom of the frame at the radiator, the rear is 5.75" at the rear bulkhead and the lowest point is the oil pan which is 3.25" but due to the location has not grounded as of yet....Knocking on wood now....my tail pipe which exits to the side does occasionally scrape in hard right turns if their is a bump in the turn but this is mainly due to the fact that I have the end turned down so the exhaust note is deflected into the ground to help reduce the noise signature. I have scraped the floor pan just about midway due to a driveway entrance angle but only when driven straight onto it and it is just a very light scuff.

2.75" under the Raceline sump with the 15"-195/50 street tires.

Occasional side exhaust scrapes in bumpy right handers, and I've scraped the sump a few times on speedbumps at very low speeds :-)

My requirement for our car was to be able to clear a piece of 4x4" (so 3.5") wood with every part (especially the oil pan!) For a track car I would set it lower.

I ran over a 4X4 in the Rotus... I was following someone in traffic, and had nowhere to go... ran over it with the driver side wheel. not a good feeling - although it didn't hit any other part of the car.

I'll check with a block of wood sometime in the next few days (the Navarro women are visiting Laura's relatives...giving me a little free to time to dedicate to car and club - like updating the database and sending hats out to people who sent checks! - stuff)...to Mike's point about the exhaust, that was one of the sticking points that failed Orange the first time I tried to get it inspected in NJ.

I wanted side exit anyhoo, so that just cemented the deal.
