I guess it all depends on how cozy you want to get. I am currently 230, 5'11" with an older Birkin, standard size. After some time adjusting the pedals, I feel fine. Plenty of lateral support. Find one to try on for size. If you travel any, maybe post plans here and stumble across a Caterham owner at your destination. I'm is Dallas (Hell Hole), but with a Birkin.

I guess it's all subjective, at 5'9", 160 lbs I found my S3 Birkin very tight, with the steering wheel too close to my chest. I replaced the largish stock seats with a carbon fiber shell seat from Caterham and that made the fit tolerable. The long cockpit Caterham I was coming from felt much roomier.

Any Caterham Sevens in Austin? I'm looking to see if my 6' 230lb frame can fit in an S3.

Colin

Dunno if you're still looking, but I'll be at COTA on Halloween weekend in the 420R SV (with lowered floors), you're welcome to stop by and jump in.

Thanks for the offer!  I ended up buying an S3 at auction.   Fortunately it has the leather seats (more room on the sides) but it is still a super tight fit.   I just got done installing lowered floor pans and the FIA track bar.     My head is no longer the highest point in the vehicle =)

It seems there are a few around your neck of the woods, I met a guy called Andrew who was working pit out at COTA - he has a Zetec S3, runs in one of the SCCA groups, I think he said his dad has one too. Super nice fella, even when charged with giving me a talk to for spinning out in the warm up session .
