Wanted: 13" wheels

BeerCat

Recommended Posts

Looking for (2) 6" x 13" & (2) 8" x 13 wheels for my 2005 Seven Zetec.

Currently have 15" at all corners, but would like to try this setup ... as many of you have recommended.

(Demon tweeks supposedly had them coming in from the supplier this week, but there are delays.... and this summer is going by fast).

Other sources or ideas are welcome.

Thanks,

Hal

Depending on the bolt pattern and back spacing you need, I have purchased steel wheels made by Aero Race Wheels and Marsh Racing Wheels. There are other makes available, e.g. Diamond Race Wheels. Some of them can be purchased directly, or from Summit or Jegs or some of the other suppliers. They work fine for track days and autocross, and are relatively inexpensive. Hope this helps.

Have you checked with Beachman Racing or Rocky Mountain Caterham? They both have parts inventory and it's possible one/both of them have the 13" wheels in stock.

Hi Hal,

Depending on your hp level, a square set up (i.e. 6"x13 all round) is actually better if you have less than 180hp. The wider rears work better with higher hp as the engine can overpower the 6" wide rear set up.

cheers

I make it a point never to disagree with Croc, esp on the issue of Caterhams and how to set them up. But really, about anything.

But... my (maybe)150 hp Zetec SVT S3 Caterham has 6x13 in front and 7x15 in the rear for a non-square and staggered set up. It works great at the track(track only car), very neutral and balanced.

I make it a point never to disagree with Croc,

oh but go on then....

I am not saying it is a bad set up like you have it but I find a square set up in a lower hp car produces less understeer. I am thinking road more than track usage admittedly.

Then again I do like throttle steering!

Croc & Kitcat...... thanks for the input. I've been reading/following (don't worry ... not stalking) you guys for awhile (since I got my seven a year or two ago).

I appreciate your guidance & comments!

Hal
