Is there a specific "oil pressure sender" for the Zetec using a Caterham dial or can I use a standard Ford Zetec one?

I did a Google search and there is a post on USA7s but that takes me to the old site (The thread is archived)

Thanks

Can you please post the link you found as there is a way to fix that type of broken link.

Google will continue to return the old site for a while.  Search is much better on the new forum, so please try your searches here first.  However, if you do use Google and it takes you to the old site, the fix is generally to update the URL by replacing the letters "vb" that appear immediately after "usa7s.net/" with "ips"  That should take you to the correct post in the new forum.

Using our most popular thread as an example, google would return the first url and you would want to edit it to the second url

Was able to find my handwritten notes from when I last dealt with this in 2007-8 area.  I had a SVT zetec at the time and got a replacement electric signal sender from Nisonger Instruments who are the US dealers for Caerbont gauges.  Not sure where the original one that came with the car came out of but it had no identifying marks as a Ford part.    Did me no good though.  After 6 months the replacement sender unit stopped working and I ended up going for a mechanical oil pressure gauge from Mocal.

OK I have the Caterham gauge and read the sender needs to match the gauge thats were I get confused

I thought pop out to the local Nappa and get one for a ford Zetec

I was as confused myself at the time. I have a reputation for blowing up auto electrics.  For mine I could not get a matching replacement that way.  Does your sender have any identifying marks on it?  Does it look visually identical to a Ford Contour equivalent of the period.  If yes then you may be able to track it down.  If not then you end up doing like I did and chatting with the gauge manufacturer to source a correct sender.
