Vinman1 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Putting together a 1979 Seven and I am looking to purchase a cross flow engine to use or rebuild and use. Any help appreciated.
Anker Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 An option is to get your hands on a Formula Ford engine, which is a 1.6 l crossflow. They make new blocks for them and all the other parts can be procured. Anker
locost7018 Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Wish you were closer to Kansas City. I would make you a deal on an spare junk yard Xflow I have sitting around. Russ
bball7754 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I purchased a Crossflow over the summer, and he had at least one other to sell. Believe it was a 711M. He is in SC, and can put you in touch if you’d like. But, I came across this post after I’d purchased the engine. Wish I’d seen it before - I could have gone and gotten the engine rather than paying for shipping. https://usa7s.net/ips/topic/13328-locost-parts-for-sale/
Vinman1 Posted December 20, 2021 Author Posted December 20, 2021 Thanks to all replies. Found a very nice 711M and also found a Transmission and bell housing as well! The only major missing pieces now are a wiring loom, and radiator / fan setup. Cheers, and Merry Christmas to all!
TMRL7 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 @vinman1 For the wiring loom you may want to consider British Wiring in Pennsylvania.
Vinman1 Posted December 24, 2021 Author Posted December 24, 2021 TMLR7, Thank you for recommending British Wiring in PA. I have contacted them to supply the loom for my car. Cheers to you and another Seven in MA!
