Does anyone know the oil flow rate of a Kent Crossflow with standard oil pump at various RPMs, 3K, 2K, etc?

 

Or that of any engine if you know it.  I just have never known if engines flow quarts per second or gallons per minute.  I have no idea.

Quarts or gallons? Yes! How much? I dunno. A shot in the dark is 5-10 gpm at 5000 rpm.

Pumps are sized for sufficient volume to produce adequate pressure at warm idle (the worst case scenario of slow pump, big clearances, thin hot oil) plus 30% to cope with wear over the life of the engine. Some oil bypasses all the time and helps to prevent damage from excess pressure when driving a cold engine.

There was a test of oil filters on an episode of Engine Masters if you can find it. They were using a V8 on the dyno to test different brands of filter for flow rates. Testing for GPM     I don't remember any of the numbers, but I'm sure ours are a lot lower

 

A friend who builds them (FF) says he's never seen a number

A V8 oil filter will pass about 9 GPM, and a NASCAR engine will pump between 4 to 6 GPM, so you probably need about 60% for your 4 cylinder engine, to be on the safe side.

And if you take a high quality filter with a finer filter media but more pleats for more area, the flow could be the same as a cheapo, even over the service life. Sometimes the cheapo is just as good as the expensive filter and then there is the filter internal bypass. What a crap shoot.

Remember the aluminum remote filters with cleanable/replaceable media?

yea, like the Canton- Mecca. are they still around?

AFAIK, I would stick with the K&N 2001

Engine Masters, recently rated oil filters, and rated K&N in 1st place, followed by Wix. Both filters showed less pressure drop an more flow. With the K&N filtering 10 microns, Vs the typical 20 microns.
