Saudio Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 I also can take off my steering wheel. These things make my car hard to steal. But I've been wondering, has anybody in history actually attempted to steal a Caterham? Can you imagine trying to look inconspicuous while driving away a stolen Caterham? And, really, how many people can even drive a stick shift these days? Or, for that matter, if you managed to get past the immobilizer and the battery disconnect and the missing steering wheel, could you find the start switch? 1
IamScotticus Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 (edited) Around here, they will haul you away on a trailer. A traier stolen ten minutes earlier. Need a motion activated alarm. Edited June 1, 2023 by IamScotticus 2 1 1
MV8 Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Around here, out of boredom, four guys from the football team would just pick it up and carry it to the roof. I suggest adding an apple air tag you can track with your phone and be notified when the car moves. https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/apple-airtag-tips
wdb Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 I have a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. Last week a guy on that forum posted that someone tried, unsuccessfully, to steal his truck. The stick shift thwarted the attempt. As for the Caterham, I haven't thought to drive mine to a destination where theft might become a possibility. More to ponder.
IamScotticus Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 If you park with the wheel fully turned to one direction and lock the steering, its difficult to push or move the car in any direction.
