I am looking for a Birkin S3 Windscreen with frame and mounting kit in addition to a top and street roll bar.

Appreciate any thoughts or referrals.

Thanks, David.

What frame/vintage are you looking for?

Fwiw- my windscreen took a rock & needed replacement. I managed to find an independent glass shop who replaced the laminated glass reusing the frame.

granted if you’re going from brooklands back to a windshield this won’t help much

Not sure about the frame information.

I was told it was a 2006.

which glass shop was able to make glass?

The new windshield is right around $1000.

I am trying to migrate back from the brooklands.

The sun is troublesome after a while, with a long list of lost hats on the roadside at anything above 50 miles an hour.

Am I whining?

I am located in Southern California just outside of LA.

Where are you in the North West?

Thanks for your help, David.

Be aware that the full windshield will not solve the sun/wind problems.  With the Brooklands, the wind hits straight on.  With the windshield, the wind whips around and buffets from every direction.  The sporting goods stores have little tethers that hold your hat so it does not go by the roadside when it blows off.  At highway speed, I use a little motorcycle helmet with a bill for the sun.  You might be able to use the cage to mockup the clearance of a top to see how you will get in and out.

Thanks for that.  Do you prefer brooklands or a windshield?

I was thinking to replace the roll cage with the street stock roll bar and set up the windshield and a half top.

You can always reverse the process for racing.  What are your thoughts?

I have had the Brooklands on for about 3 years and prefer them.  BUT, I am thinking about reinstalling the windshield for the summer, so I could fashion a bikini top for the sun.  This summer has been brutal in Texas.  I have a high roll bar so I think I could get in and out if I undo a front snap or two.  Anyway, it's quite easy to switch the windscreens.  Visibility was the main reason I got the Brooklands.  Besides the afore mentioned buffeting, the top of the windshield frame was right at my eye level.  The ideal would be to find someone close to you with a windshield to try on, or one unmounted that you could place on your car.

That sounds right.

Are the windscreen mounting kits and frame interchangeable between Caterham and Birkin?

The stock roll bar is the high one?

Southern California has been pretty hot too.

Birkin in Colorado has windscreens and mounts. They add up to about $1500, and then shipping on top.
