Timberline
I’d love some engine bay pictures showing the cooling and oil routing. That is coming up this week since we got the lump in the chassis! @CBuff Any tips on the collector springs? I’m still half inch short

CBuff
Don’t have any first hand experience on the collector spring. But this has been a useful blog on a recent build https://caterham420detailedbuildblog.co.uk/2020/01/26/collector/ also some others https://caterham420detailedbuildblog.co.uk/useful-links/

MV8
I'd use a screwdriver; put the tip over a collector loop, hook the spring on the shaft and the header, then move the screwdriver handle rearward so the spring slides down the screwdriver on to the collector loop.

Took tons of force, even with the zip tie trick. Another guy building a 420 at the same time said he just bent the hooks, put the springs on and bent it back. JohnCh
If you're having trouble cinching down the zip ties, two things to try: grab the tail right above the locking head with needle nose pliers that are orthogonal to the tail, then rotate the pliers over the head. This worked for me. place slip joint pliers next to a zip tie, compress the spring which loosens the zip tie, then cinch it down. Do this for the other zip tie and repeat as necessary. Timberline
A little bit of of update, I was able to get the collector springs installed. My springs were just way too long compared to others and I need to grind down 3 turns of the spring! I am short radiator mounting brackets, so that will have to wait till I get them from Caterham. Moving forward otherwise with hose installation and routing. Any tips on installing the hoses with the jubilee clips? The first two I tried are really tight and I stopped after applying a ton of pressure to try and get the hoses over the interfacing ribs on the engine. hyper7
I was as well, and so was the other guy in Ohio I've been talking with offline.

Getting the hose on the nipple? Or getting the clip over the hose? If it's getting the clip over the hose, make sure it's loosened up, if it doesnt fit even when fully expanded, I have TONS of leftover clips, so just size up. They have the span listed on them (27-40 for example)
Timberline
Starting with the big pipes and have the 30-40 or 27-40 clips on them. I guess it's order of operations. Do you insert the hose with the clip on the hose? Or insert the hose then come back with the captured clip from the fitting?

Loosen the clip up like all the way, slide it over the end of the hose and back like 3-5" (it should be loose enough to fall off on its own). Put the hose over the inlet/nipple/whatever you want to call it, use a little wd40 if it's tight getting it on there. Then slide the clip back down over the junction, it should still be able to slide easily. Crank it down with a socket/screwdriver.
Timberline
Can we petition to get half a dozen radiator mounts shipped state side? Cover the next couple builders till they get incorporated in the kits.
