Bonnet / Hood latches

What latches are people using, I have some small metal flip lock ones but they keep popping open.

You might get more targeted answers if you update your profile with the type of se7en you own (it shows you are still looking).  On my Westfield, I am using this model from Protex with the optional latching pins.  Protex has a huge number of choices, and their latches are high quality.  Unless you are okay drilling new holes, I'd pay attention to the mounting hole locations for your current latches.  https://protex.com/27-1570MSZN-spring-claw-toggle-latch-with-safety-catch-light-duty-mild-steel-zinc-plate-passivate-silver-blue

Assuming the strips are old, replace the foam strips on the scuttle and nose edges.

A little shrinking of those allows a lot of tension loss.

However, I would agree the standard latches are lacking any adjustability,  safety or security.

If going this route, assuming you're attaching to fiberglass, I would use the hook with wider hole spacing

The latches Lotus used also opened on their own.  Flying bonnets were the result.  Mine, a 1969 S3, does the same.  I'll be exploring ways of keeping the original latches but adding locking safety pin.
