You know, if the police are following you that close, perhaps you should tone it down :jester: Some very nice sevens! I didn't know there were any other 7's besides the organic racing one at one lap. Any write ups or blogs from the gold one if anyone knows who it is?

Goldie was the first Ultralite to run in the 1 Lap 05. It was piloted by a father/son team of Mike and Norm Babcock aka team Iron Butt. Norm turned 76 the year they ran Goldie. Now that is one tough old bird. Goldie was originally disigned as a track only car and was never intended to have a passanger seat. The passenger side is straight doesnt have the normal cut out for your arm. So it was tougher than normal. Not to mention they had a 7k miles route that year if I remember correctly which is pure torture. My hat was off to those guys. They did pretty well considering they borrowed the car for the event and only had 1 day at the track 2 months before to get familiar with it before tackeling the 1 Lap. I am not sure had they sit for so long with nads that big. They are some really nice guys which normally pilot and Audi S4 that is fully raced prepped. They also ride the Iron Butt rally which is 12k miles in 12 days on motorcycles. :flag:

When someone has time, can you do a little write up on the event and post please?

I see a few cars from 7-7-7, but also a few that are new to me....and is the light or is that Pink Se7en in the one pic? (No, not Dick's...in the background of the first shot....

Sadly, the police can be seen in that pic because they were there to take an accident report. Take a closer look at the 5th pic to see what happens when an F-150 runs a red light and tries to run over a Birkin.

Since I am not yet a Se7en owner, I only followed them around for a few hours on Saturday. Hopefully someone that attended the whole event will give a full write-up. I believe the car in the background was actually a red Birkin with a silver strip. If you look closely, it looks to me like you are seeing the reflection of the wine colored Birkin on the lower half, giving it a pink look.

The white Stalker is owned by Tony Calvert of Plano, TX. Tony and his wife Dawn were at 7-7-7 this summer.

The Blue Stalker with silver band around the grill opening is owned by Phil Sullivan of Lake Jackson, TX. He just finished his build and got it tagged a few weeks ago.

The Datsun powered Se7en was also at 7-7-7. He is from TX and a friend of Tony's. Sorry but I can not remember his name even though we were introduced.

Tim White. His car is featured in the Automobile article, chasing Steve T. in an "action shot". I love Tony C.'s white car, too.

Damn, I'm getting all nostalgic. When are we going to all get together again? Not soon enough, i say.

It's really awesome that the Club was able to get 3 great (and different) events in it's first year. Thanks again to Bernie (and Dick!) and Gert for hooking up with USA7s.

Here's to many more successful outings in the years to come.

Al Bernie has done a 7s festival for at least the last 3 years. That is where I got my first ride in a 7 that sold me on the car. If I hadnt have gone to that event I might not have ever gotten a 7. Bernie does an excellent job organizing the event and it is always a blast. Everyone that can attend in the future is missing an excellent time.

Loren-

I know, I know! I read about SW7s in GRM or Kit Car back when ownership was just a pipe dream for me. What I was trying to get at is that — were it not for Gert and Bernie, who had plans/traditions of hosting meets/trips in the works — the start up USA7s club would have had just one large event in its first year. But instead, we had 3 very different, marque-inclusive large events. Which reinforces the national, marque-inclusive scope that is one of the goals of the club. Thanks again to all the organizers and attendees.

Here's to many more successful USA7s events!

-Al
