Burque Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Greetings all. I'm a new member of USA7s, and the new owner of the car you've been discussing in this thread, purchased from the dealer a few days ago. Inspecting the engine it appears to be an SVT externally, including the intake cam control valve and multi stage intake. I'll be taking it to my tuning shop next month to peek inside the calibration and do a dyno run. If any of you can point me to an SVT shop manual I'd be grateful. Everything I've found so far excludes the SVT. I'd like to know more about the engine vs the stock zetec, in particular to help me deduce if this engine is all SVT or a mashup of stock and SVT created during the rebuild. The tires are dated, so I'm planning an upgrade. I'd like to put it on 13" minilites for the taller sidewall and classic look. The current 7Jx16 et19 wheels with 205/45R16 tires fit the fenders pretty well, but when I went looking for minilite 13s I could not locate et19's. Can anyone guide me to 7jx13 et19 minilites, or minilite style?

MV8 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Pick up a ford factory service manual for a focus that was offered with the SVT 2.3L. It will be paper and about two inches thick. Get the volume that covers the engine. 1

Can anyone guide me to 7jx13 et19 minilites, or minilite style? I strongly suggest 15" wheels because of the tires. I have Caterham Prisoner wheels on my car. They are 6.5 x 15. The tires supplied by Caterham were 195/50R15. The exact size is available in the Yokohama A052 tire, which I believe to be the ideal tire for these light cars for street and autocross. They stick when cold and will last a long time on the street on our light cars. It just so happens that I was just offered a set of five Prisoner wheels by a member of this list. I didn't need a second set, but he tempted me with a set of ROH wheels from Australia in 8 x 15 and I could not resist. When I had my 1979 Caterham I wanted to suplement the 13" wheels and I bought Panasport wheels in 7x15 from Tire Rack. If these are still available, they would meet both my preference for 15" and your preference for Minilite looks. Edited September 12 by pethier corrected my tire size
pethier Posted September 12 Posted September 12 (edited) I don't know if Panasport wheels are available in 14", but the Yokohama tires are available in 185/55R14. Edited September 12 by pethier corrected available tire size
Burque Posted October 3 Posted October 3 I have spent a little more time inspecting this Caterham. All of the external SVT hardware seems to be there. The intake with control cable and module is present as is the cam solenoid. MAF, EGO sensors and cat all look OEM. It dyno’d 157hp/137tq at the rear wheels. This seems in line with the sellers statement of 185hp at the engine if one assumes 15% losses. Will continue investigating. Any recommendations on tools to use to inspect the tune?
