hyper7 Posted September 19, 2025 Author Posted September 19, 2025 (edited) Went ahead and ordered a fresh jug of Motul 8100 5w50 and a wix 57035 filter - if anyone has a different favorite let me know, the Internet was surprisingly unhelpful for this oil filter. Edited September 19, 2025 by hyper7

Josh from RMC recommended Mobil 1 5w-50 (the normal stuff, not the expensive "supercar" stuff made for the c8) for the oil and a Wix 51348 for the filter from O'Reillys. Also kind of cross posting from my issue thread to here - anyone know what replacement to use for O2 sensor stateside that has the correct connector as well as spark plugs and coils? Do you have a male or female end on your O2 sensor? (left or right side of attached picture)
CBuff Posted September 19, 2025 Posted September 19, 2025 I couldn’t source Motul 8100 on my first oil change and went with the Mobil 1. Both 5w50. The second one I went with motul 8100 5w50. I use this filter Mann Filter W712/83 Spin-On Oil... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005NFXVH6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I have an 420r sv so clearance for the taller filter isn’t an issue. Figured taller is better but not based on much. The 83 designation is the bypass valve of 1 bar. Although I was never able to get any clear direction on different bypass pressures preference or impact to operations. my take away was changing oil and filters more often overshadows the exact brand types assuming the weight of the oil is correct. But happy to be corrected.
hyper7 Posted September 19, 2025 Author Posted September 19, 2025 Yeah I read that whole thread @CBuff and came up with the wix one I list lol

(left or right side of attached picture) The sensor I bought came with a plug like the female one you show. The ones on the car looks totally different. Guessing they just switched the part at some point? This is what mine is and looks like: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/other/3969-lambda-sensor-long-lead-csr.html

Eventually, I'll find the correct adapter from GM and switch the ends around on the main harness so I can use the AFS-73 as it comes out of the package from GM. I've yet to stop at the local GM dealer parts counter to see if they have a harness repair kit or not for the other side of the stock oxygen sensor. Bill
