hahuang65 Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Through my recent issues, I've finally completed my build and done a fun test drive today. Just wanted to say thanks for everyone's comments, suggestions, and tips. Much appreciated! The build took me 107 hours... Then 12 hours to disassemble due to my clutch issue, and 24 hours to re-assemble... Grand total of 143 hours across 8.5 months. Here's a pic! 8 2
Timothy Keith-Lucas Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 GORGEOUS! Let's see some other pictures as well. I hope to follow in your footsteps.
IamScotticus Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 (edited) Check your coolant. You likely will be filling some air pockets as you drive, especially during the harder throttling. If you have a heater plumber in, keep it on hot some time to allow the coolant to circulate through the heater and purge more air. Your coolant reservoir should be only half full at any time. This is the thing to watch now. Edited September 15, 2025 by IamScotticus 1
Timothy Keith-Lucas Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Oh, how much fun it is to refill the coolant in my Seven. It's a long process of burps, boil overs, and out and out geysers, all blown aft by the engine fan, covering the car with slightly rusty coolant so the car and I need a bath when it's over. Then, of course, it wasn't really over, and we have a second session of burps, boil overs, and geysers. Just how many places can this system hide air pockets that have to be driven out, making burps, boil overs, geysers, and coolant all over my Seven?
IamScotticus Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 @Timothy Keith-Lucaslets talk about on PM or phone so we don't hijack this thread.
