Would someone be able to give me a cost, (exact or ball park) on replacing a clutch assembly, cable actuation, on my V20xe HPC? I mean, pulling the engine, replacing the clutch disk, pressure plate and clutch release bearing and then putting all back together. I will accept answers from people who's cars have other engines as only the parts prices and labour rates will change slightly. The actual time to do the job should be the very similar. Ta

Labor is typically flat rate; not how long it actually takes. Also, parts are normally marked up a percentage if the shop must determine what they are and procure them. I'm going to guess 2k if the shop does everything. Check out the repair pal site to get an idea of what it costs for normal cars in your area or at least near the border.

I would start with looking at parts availability. Second, add up the parts cost and you’ll have that number. Labor cost will be different depending on who performs the work. I highly recommend resurfacing the fly wheel while you have it apart… and installing new ARP flywheel hardware…. Good Luck..

Since there are virtually no shops with experience on our cars, your labor estimate will probably be....

"as long as it takes"   times x $/hour

they'll be figuring it out as they go

thankfully, 7's are -for the most part-  fairly simple machines

Crb was like $20. Its a ford part, the input shaft is modified to fit the rover. Since i was in there, I did flywheel, clutch and basket. I belive it was actually a Vauxhall part from QED.

I did the crb in and out in a morning with help from a member here.

It helped that I prepped the car the night before by disconnecting intake and exhaust, removing coolant etc.

If youre paying a shop, its a fairly simple job due to the car being simple. Shops will charge a good amount.

One thing I would have done is check the clutch fork pivot. Mine rattles like a bastard bc the bushing is shot. Would definitely replace it.
